I think this office could do better on learning how to schedule patients. I mean, pre-paperwork was already completed, just had to check-in, arrived 10 min before appt time...waited, waited, waited 1hr and 30min before taken back. Understanding, I can see 20-30 wait times (typical Dr office) but almost 1.5 hours?? Front Staff was welcoming, kind, professional as was medical staff, Dr R and thorough with examination. So 3 seemed appropriate because people have othe appts., plans (like work schedules) and don't typically want an unexpected 2+hrs.

I am giving 2 stars ONLY because Dr. Rana and his assistant, Kay were excellent. Honestly, they both deserve 5 stars, however the front desk and checkout staff is horrible and don't even deserve 1 star. My son was referred there for a problem and after waiting months to be seen, we finally showed up for a 7:30 am appointment, waiting in the lobby for several minutes listening to chatter down the hall, just to be told the doctor had "a family emergency" and we would have to reschedule. I understand things like this happen so we were understanding, even though we had taken off work to get there. So we asked if we could reschedule for the following week because my son was starting a new job the next week and wouldn't be able to take off for this appointment. They were able to make that happen, which we were thankful for. But I specifically asked if the procedure would be done that day (not just a consultation and then have to schedule another appointment for the procedure) and I was told that it would be done that day. So we show up today, again taking time off of work, and sat in the waiting room with numerous other patients all who were frustrated with the wait time. Over an hour later, we were finally called back. The appointment went well and as I stated before, the doctor and assistant were very pleasant. The Dr decided not to do the procedure because he didn't feel it to be necessary. So we make our way back to the checkout area and Yulian was extremely rude. She happened to be the same one that was there on the first day and turned us away for the family emergency. When I questioned the amount that I paid upfront (for what I thought was for the procedure) she said this was only supposed to be a consultation. I said I specifically asked if the procedure would be done this day and you told me it would be, AND Dr Rana came into the room expecting to do the procedure. So since that didn't happen, I assumed the amount I paid should've been less but she argued with me and said it was my insurance and I could take it up with them. She also said she never told me that about the procedure, which is an absolute lie. I repeatedly asked the charge for just a standard "consultation appointment" and she would never answer me. Both Yulian and Crystal are extremely unprofessional. Being the first and last faces you see in this office, you'd think they would try a little more to be friendly and helpful to their patients, many who are already frustrated with the overscheduling issues. It's a real shame that such a good doctor has staff that cause patients to not want to return but unfortunately that is exactly what happened. And the under the breath mumbling about patients when they think they can't be heard should be addressed by the office manager as well. Shame on them.

I used Dr Rana at NVEI for cataract surgery in both eyes and couldn't be happier with my results, Dr Rana and his entire staff were extremely professional and went above and beyond to make sure I made the right choice for both my eyes and my wallet. As an added bonus I now have 20/15 vision....

This office has the worst scheduling I've ever experienced. They only book appointments 5+ months out, which is already inconvenient. A month before my original appointment, they called to reschedule me. Then, the night before my new appointment, I received a text saying it was canceled. Their only solution was to come in at 7:30 AM the next day (less than 24 hours' notice) or wait another five months until January. I had already arranged PTO for this appointment, so the last-minute cancellation was beyond frustrating. If you value your time and need reliable scheduling, look elsewhere.

Surgery performed by Dr Rana was flawless but every facet of coordination with his office staff was a disaster. Twice they postponed surgery because they had ordered the wrong lens and each time I had surgery they mistakenly tried to charge me for the more expensive lens I originally chose (that Dr Rana had changed to a less expensive option). Several months later I arrived at an 0800 surgery follow up appointment 15 minutes early as requested only to find 7 other patients also with 0800 appointments. After waiting approximately an hour and a half I, along with a mother of two who also had one of those early appointments, approached the receptionist to get clarity on what the delay was. We both got the same mumbled response and cancelled our appointments so we could take care of other obligations. I will never go back to this practice.

My wife at an appointment this morning at 9.30 arrived 3 minutes late ... for a preop cataract surgery. They told her that it was too late for her appointment and when my wife tried to talked with the people at the reception desk the feeling we had was not very pleasant at all. Well obviously the lady (I think Tia) was not very kind and argued that those are their rules. May I remind you that the kindness you treat the patients does not cost a penny! I am so sorry for the young lady at the reception desk trying to reschedule. Well it is not helping my wife but that has to be said !

I had a wonderful experience with my cataract surgery. The results were great. I can see distant objects very clear and colors are very vibrant. I didn't know what I had been missing. The office staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions in terms I could understand. Dr.Rana was very knowledgeable and explained the process very clearly. I am totally satisfied with the results from Dr. Rana's surgery on both of my eyes. I would highly recommend Dr. Rana to anyone needing cataract surgery.

I have been a patient of Dr. Rana's for many years. Over the years he has consistently been professional, competent and caring. I find his advice to be sound and trust his skills, guidance and treatments. Most recently I had two cataract surgeries. Both surgeries were successful. Pre and post-op Dr. Rana personalized my care and always put my best interests first. I am fortunate to have him oversee my eyes. I put my complete trust in him and thank him for his commitment to his profession and his patients.
