My sister needed a new prescription, but due to her special needs, needed the exam process to be slower and easier. Dr. Nguyen was accomodating and patient, so she felt it was easier than last time and felt confident about the accuracy of the results. We waited the 2 weeks for the prescription. During this wait, they moved to their new location, and the pick-up process was quick and easy.
Their new location is easy to find, in a big, grey-blue building across the street from a family dentistry. It is more spacious and looks nicer than the previous location. With hardwood floors instead of carpet, it is more allergy-friendly. Seating is comfortable, and there are more chairs available than the previous small location.
Note: If travelling by Everett Transit bus, after we tested out both bus options, we highly recommend the 29 bus instead of the 7 bus. There are steep hills and a longer walk between the clinic and Evergreen Way (7 bus).
Keep in mind, however, if getting off the southbound 29 bus, you will need to walk in a grassy patch between a street gutter and traffic, with no sidewalk for a short distance (about 20 feet) between the bus stop and the southwest Broadway/Madison street corner where the sidewalk begins. There are also several driveways between there and the clinic that interrupt the sidewalk. This may be difficult terrain to individuals with special mobility needs, such as wheelchairs, so I recommend getting a ride directly to the clinic location.
I was extremely impressed with the level of care and professionalism during my visit. The eye exam was comprehensive, and the doctor carefully explained the results and any necessary recommendations. I truly appreciate how attentive and detail-oriented the doctor was.
I am truly upset and disappointed with our experience at Eye Doctors of Everett. This visit was for my child, and from start to finish it was extremely frustrating and stressful. Even with a scheduled appointment, we waited over 45 minutes, and the front desk staff was rude and dismissive instead of apologetic.
When we finally saw the doctor, the appointment felt rushed and careless. I did not feel confident in the results at all, and I left worried that my child's prescription might not even be correct. When I immediately asked to cancel the glasses order the same day, I was flatly refused with no clear explanation.
What made this even worse was the complete lack of communication afterward. I called multiple times the same day and again the next day, but no one answered the phone or returned my calls. As a parent, being ignored when you are concerned about your child's vision is unacceptable.
This experience caused a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety. I trusted this clinic with my child's eye care and left feeling unheard, dismissed, and deeply disappointed. I would never return and strongly warn other parents to look elsewhere.
UPDATE:
The appointment was on Thursday afternoon, not Wednesday as previously stated. I called the office many times on Thursday and Friday, and no one bothered to answer or return my calls. Today, Ashley finally picked up, and instead of helping, she was extremely rude and hung up on me.
This is absolutely unacceptable. THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT CUSTOMERS--ESPECIALLY PARENTS CALLING ABOUT THEIR CHILD'S CARE? The lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic courtesy from this office is shocking. I strongly do not recommend this place to anyone.
They waited until after I paid and finished filling out their paperwork, including my ssn, before they told me that I couldn't leave my scooter inside. There are no bike racks on this block, so I'm not really sure where they expected me to park it. Initially telling me it's ok, then waiting until after I gave them my ssn was pretty unprofessional and a bit scammy to be honest.
Their reasoning was that "they had carpet". People walk through grass, dirt, mud, potentially pet poo... my scooter is not "off road", the thing stays on the side walk only. Unless this place is asking every single person to take their shoes off and leave them outside, the demand was not reasonable and borderline discriminatory against people that don't drive. Especially considering they don't provide a bike rack.
Now it's the 29th and there's no way I'll be able to get another appointment anywhere else before the end of the year. Thanks for depriving me of what little vision benefits I get.
Edit for owner response: LOL! Your suggestion is to leave my small $600 e-scooter outside? When you have no bike racks!? So I can give you hundreds of dollars for new glasses AND get my scooter stolen?! No, thanks. Visiting you again would end up costing me over a grand... what an unreasonable suggestion.
Also, not a "large bike" btw, the scooter fit between a chair and the wall of your "quite small" office, I didn't even have to move the chair. I find it interesting how quickly the excuses change when the double standards are pointed out.
The worst experience I've ever had. In the morning I got a call to come and pick up the glasses, so I didn't have an appointment. I'm pregnant, and they didn't let me in stating that in the office there's too many people at the time. I was wearing mask, but when they didn't let me come in, I took off the mask. Even through in the hospitals are better communication and rules for Covid, this place is the worst. I was asking for f I can come in and sit in the lobby because I'm pregnant, they told me to sit on the cold concrete fence-bench. So, I was serviced outside breathtaking some paint and sitting on the cold bench. Ladies at the front desk are too rude and can't communicate with their clients. They think that they're everything. Even through I didn't have an appointment, but they called me to pick up my glasses, they have to treat and service me well!!
Never come back!! The worst experience!!!
Dr. Nguyen was able to see me as a walk in. I needed a 2nd opinion because I kept failing a vision test at a nearby DOT test site. He quickly confirmed that my corrected vision was indeed within the requirements and even walked to the clinic next door with me to determine what was causing the discrepancy. He immediately identified a lighting issue that was causing poor vision, and retested me there on the spot. Thanks to his caring and professionalism I am able to keep my job! Great and knowledgeable customer service from both him and the office staff.
EDIT** Got a response from the eye clinic. If your answer to my review was that simple I wouldn't have left a complaint or a bad review. I called my insurance and they called your store directly and spoke with you guys and discovered that you do take my particular insurance through VSP. VSP called you! They checked a lot of the numbers on the three-page list they had originally given me and three of them did accept my particular VSP Insurance. Your office is one of the locations that they verified. And how would your staff know when they never even got my insurance number or my name or verified anything on their computer while speaking with me? But when VSP contacted you guys it was verified that you accept my insurance.
I called them disheartened because two of the clinics that I had called from the three-page list they had given me had rejected aceepting my insurance. So they called a majority of the locations close to me. And were able to give me three verified offices I could set up an appointment with! I informed them that I had called your office when I saw that it was one of the numbers that they had given me. I told them that you had said you did not accept my insurance and they told me that you do. That they had verified it with you. If it were less complex than that do you think I would have gone through the trouble of writing a review?
Tried calling to make an appointment. I had come here years ago and bought glasses. My medical insurance gave me their number because they are in the network. I Called and asked if they take VSP just to verify. They didn't even ask for my name or check my plan when I told them the name of my insurance provider. Which has nothing to do with my vision coverage, I found out. I am just to tell them I have VSP. They shot me down before even checking. I called back VSP, who called and talked to this location and confirmed they were in the network, while I waited on hold. The fact that they were so quick to dismiss making an appointment with me or checking my insurance information on their system has made me not want them to provide me with my vision needs. They were more than willing to be quick to tell me that they don't accept my insurance. I'll call one of the other two providers out of the list of three different companies/locations that VSP had given me that accept my insurance in the area. That is out of the three-page long list of providers VSP had originally given me last week. I guess this eye doctor's office should have double-checked and verified on their computer system before they just assumed that my insurance was not accepted there. They could have had more business and they could have made more money. And they could have had me giving them a glowing recommendation.
Amazing service everyone was so kind. Finally have a frame of glasses I'm excited to wear
