Staff was very helpful and didn't mind that I tried on many glasses to finally find the pair I decided to go south. Thank you staff at vision works.
It's not my first time visiting this place because this is where my husband gets his eyes checked, so I decided to have mine done here as well. All the members of the team were accommodating, friendly, helpful, and professional. I love my first pair of prescription eyeglasses, and I even received them earlier than expected. I highly recommend this place!"
I highly recommend Vision Works, the staff are very friendly, patient and kind. They truly care about our eye care needs. Thank you Vision Works for the AWESOME care and service.
We went to the branch at Everett and staff there was amazing. They were well informed about all insurance coverages and patiently answered all our questions. Took a personal interest in showing us different frames and help choose. Examiner and doctor both also attended us very well and had a smile over the face throughout. Will be going here next year as well!
Fixed my glasses in moments. The manager Jennifer and Examiner Xzavier were awesome!!
Well from start to finish everyone was great. Easy check in, knowledgeable staff and the pre testing for the doc was a breeze and super fun. Doctor Ma and Xzavier were fun and helpful through the whole process. Jenn gave expert advise and helpfulness for my choices on glasses. Overall amazing experience.
Very quick service. Friendly staff. They were able to explain everything to me clearly and "at my level". And the options for eyewear were just enough. Very likely to come back and will definitely be referring to this location.
One of the worst optometrists (OD) I have encountered was Karin Ma on 12/22/2025. I would not recommend anyone visit her for an eye examination or glasses prescription. I would give zero stars for her unprofessional attitude and failure to follow proper procedures (though retail staff is helpful). Here's why:
My prescription has been stable for the past 10 years (including the last 3 years with diabetes) at approximately -3.75 for both eyes. I have worn glasses for 25 years and did not expect my prescription to change drastically, even though my last exam was 2.5 years ago.
Following standard procedure, her assistant took an initial reading using an automated machine, which measured -4.50 for both eyes. This aligned with my expectations, as these machines typically read higher than the actual prescribed number. So far, so good.
When Karin Ma came to refine the reading, she claimed to input my current prescription into her phoropter and asked me to read the chart, one eye at a time. I could not read the letters clearly. She then immediately jumped (she gave two option only) to the machine's reading of -4.50 and asked me to read again, which I could. She insisted that the initial machine reading is always correct, stating, "See, you're saying it's good because you can read."
The problem: An optometrist's job is to incrementally adjust the prescription from the current baseline to find the point where the patient can read all letters clearly. They should not jump directly from the current prescription to the machine-suggested number. That gradual refinement is what patients pay for--to obtain a balanced, accurate prescription.
When I mentioned that -4.50 seemed too high, noting that I could read the chart clearly with my current glasses (with one eye closed), her response was, "I don't know why you can read with your current glasses but cannot when the same number is in the machine." Her answer completely baffled me. In my 25 years of wearing glasses, every other optometrist has increased the prescription gradually, not jumped directly to the machine's reading (which, in my experience, always reads higher).
When I asked if she could adjust her approach, she insisted these were the correct numbers and that the machine readings confirmed it. She then began ranting me that in her 20 years of experience, she knows the initial machine readings are always right. Of course they would seem right if you jump directly to that number and ask the patient to read. The entire purpose of visiting an optometrist is to have them find the optimal, balanced prescription--not to simply accept the machine's suggestion. This is problematic because prescribing an unnecessarily high number forces the eyes to overfocus, which can lead to headaches and eye strain.
Take my experience as a warning and avoid seeing this optometrist, even though the office staff is very helpful in scheduling appointments quickly.
