Benson David R MD

An excellent physician with a very professional and accommodating staff. I recently saw Dr Benson for an eye issue which, it turns out, was very serious and required multiple surgeries. He explained everything to me, kept me up to date on the process and ended up advocating for me when the surgeon was putting me through the normal time frame and I needed things to be expedited. Dr Benson is a very caring doctor and was instrumental in helping me get the care I needed even though my condition was out of his area of expertise. He advised me on the best course of action and the appropriate steps necessary to repair my eye. As important as your vision is, it's still very refreshing to have a provider advise and counsel you in the best course of action. I could not recommend a better Opthamologist or person than Dr Benson. And he has an excellent sense of humor too.

Myself and my husband are patients of Dr. Benson. He is caring for my husband with diabetes and he is following me for family history glaucoma. He needed to get a foreign body out of my eye at one visit. He is very quick and explains everything to you before and after he finishes. I highly recommend anyone to go to Dr. Benson. He and his staff are always friendly and there to help the patients. I would recommend to him to all my friends and family.

The office staff and medical assistants are pleasant and well organized. Minimal waiting for appointments. Most paperwork prepared for you and the take care of medical billing of inurance for you as well. Dr Benson is knowlegeable and very thourough. He takes time to answer questions and addresses any concerns. Plus explains what is to be expected going forward with treatments as well as limitations or risks invoved with your treatment options. Followup appointments are sceduled in advance or before leaving the eye clinic. Furthermore, they are there if you need to call for updates or issues between appointments. Rating of

Dr. Benson and his team have always been very accommodating to my needs as a patient. I've trusted them with my eye care for more than half a decade and I've always received highly detailed and thorough care. If you're someone with a medical condition requires advanced annual eye exams, you should go see Dr. Benson and his team!

TriCare patients, be warned: UPDATE: I just spoke with Madigan Patient Affairs office, very nice crew BTW. They have had several negative reviews/complaints from other patients and will be conducting a review of their viability for future TriCare referrals. Common complaint was the front desk being rude and condescending. Karma indeed. Original complaint: Admin staff not very good at multitasking. Wife tried to make several appointments, they then stated they would call her. They never did. I then called for my wife, made an appointment without any issues. We show up 3 weeks later and they cannot find the appointment. Now, ordinarily, the admin would find an available slot and fit them in. Instead, when she found out it was tricare, shebecame argumentative, borderline hostile, claiming its usually the patients or tricares fault. So, we left and will not be back. If you are working in a customer oriented job, remember that, customer is always right.

I had a positive experience the office staff greeted me up entry to the office and check in was good I waited about an Hour to go in the back by the opthomologist assistant she was professional and look like she knew her Job and had a great personality after checking my glasses prescription and no need to change my glasses, I was seated in the hall in the corner was a small wait area I waited about twenty five minutes then the Dr. Benson told me to go into one of the exam rooms and said he would be right with me in a few more minutes, I waited 15 more minutes the exam was done in no time after that there was a med resident and I did not mind her sitting in and exam my eyes as well I hope she makes it. Anyway I was out the door in about two hrs, and I had an appt. The app was pleasent but way too much time, my opinion is they have to work on time efficiency. So go with time to spare and wait.

This was an awful experience. I was refered here after going to urgent care and waited 2 hours before deciding to leave. I was told I would be seen right away. As I was waiting and finally got into a room I was told the Dr would see me next. Instead the Dr went into the room with the guy who showed up literally 10 minutes before that point. I finally left and said I can't waist my time here anymore and one of the staff said well if you had an appointment then you would not of had such a wait. Excuse me! I was sent here!!! I said I want to be asured I'm next and I said frankly I'm pissed I've had to wait this long. Then the woman said she didn't appreciate my language and maybe next time I could find a babysitter and none of this would be an issue. Some of us don't have the means to afford a babysitter. I work and go to school and do my best to provide. This means despite not wanting to bring my children with me everywhere I have to. I will never return here. The staff is extremely rude and very unprofessional.

I have been well-cared for by Dr. Benson and his staff. My only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that there is often a waiting time I didn't count on. Dr. Benson is not only kind and caring, but he is also very thorough!!!
