I just moved here a few months ago and these were some of the nicest people I have ever met so far and done an eye exam with. When I mentioned that I had Lupus (autoimmune disease) she offered to wear a mask, even though I didn't ask for that. I just really appreciate her offering. Nobody has ever done that before. Everyone was so patient and kind. Dr. Teresa Erickson was super helpful and friendly. Definitely coming back here for my eye exams or frames. Thank you to the staff for the kindness and hospitality. It means a lot.
Extremely thorough and comprehensive eye exam. I had no idea how much went into this! Very professional and courteous staff. I am very happy and left feeling confident and at ease that everything was covered. My eye strain is reduced and vision is improved. I'm thankful this clinic was recommended.
We went to Milton-edgewood Eye Clinic today and Dr Dewalt was incredible! She was thorough, hands on, patient, informative. Everything you want in an eye care specialist! This is a small office, local, and you can feel from the moment you walk in that you are valued and important.
Making an appt was quick, there were no lengthy waits. I called Monday and they saw my son today. I wanted to schedule an appt for myself as well left, and they offered me an appt tomorrow (which I couldn't take) so they scheduled me for next Tuesday.
After the very thorough exam was complete, she brought in an optical specialist to help my son choose a new frame he liked, and they ensured the fit was correct on his face before we ordered - they had tons of frame options available! That experience was equally wonderful.
My son has worn glasses since he was 1.5 years old, and he is 15 - he had an eye surgery at age 3. We have had lots of experiences over the years with different eye drs and specialists... but this office has been the best we have ever experienced!
Also, can we talk about how amazing eye exam technology is, these are images of the inside of my son's eyes... incredible!
Anyway, 100/10 recommend this office. If you are looking for a great eye dr, check them out!
Always ask which insurance your eye exam will be billed to. I routinely opt for retinal imaging and have done so for over 25 years as a preventive choice, not because of any eye condition. My vision insurance has always covered part the exam and I always chose to pay for the retinal imaging.
At this practice, my prior year's routine exam was billed to my medical insurance, which I was later told was because of the retinal imaging which for 25 yrs I have opted to do and pay for out of pocket. I WAS NOT informed at the time that my medical insurance was being billed, and because my deductible had already been met, I never received a statement and did not realize this had occurred.
In 2025, I again scheduled a routine eye exam and opted for the retinal imagaimg. I was not advised in advance that the visit would be billed to medical insurance rather than my vision plan.
My vision plan has an allowance for a yearly eye exam and the cost of the retinal imaging.
Our medical deductible had increased significantly and had not been met, and I later received a bill for $246.30 for what was a routine vision exam. When I called and questioned it, I was told nothing could be changed other than a partial adjustment for what my vision insurance would have paid for my routine eye exam leaving a balance of $190.30. I was also told that any future eye exams would have to be billed to medical insurance at which I replied "well I guess I will have to find another Dr" and to that I was told "okay I'll take you off the schedule for your next exam.
I just paid the $190.30 and this office has lost 3 patients. Myself, my husband and my mom.
At no time during either visit was I informed that my routine exam would be billed to medical insurance rather than my vision insurance. Clear, upfront communication about billing would allow patients to make informed decisions and avoid unexpected charges.
This office could have kept three patients, said they made a mistake resubmitted it to the vision care insurance as at no time was I there for a medical problem with my eyes just routine eye exams. I was NEVER informed that because I opted for the retinal imaging that that puts me into a medical category not a regular eye exam at their office.
I have been seeing Dr. Erikson for years now and will stay with her and her team for as long as she is in practice! I love how she takes her time and is so thorough. I have never felt rushed or felt like I didn't get my money's worth in treatment! I only buy my frames from her office and just love how knowledgeable and kind her staff is! I highly recommend her and her whole team! Kristina H.
I always feel really good about my visits. Really like the doctor she always puts my mind at ease and asks all the questions she should to make sure my health is where it should be. I did observe some things that frustrated me on this perticilar visit. A apprentice (lack of a better term) was sent in before the doctor. He didn't wash his hands in my presents so maybe he did before he came in. More then a few times during his visit he used the keyboard and grabbed his stool between his legs and THEN put his hands/fingers on my eyes! Typically when putting drops in I have been told "I'm going to put 2 or 3 drops in each eye" he just squirted the drops in. Thought he needed a brush up on his people skills. Thank you
The clinic makes the eye exam experience actually enjoyable. Great attitudes, friendly and prompt. Dr DeWalt is great to work with: patient, solid, relatable, and funny. Highly recommend.
Dr. Erickson is awesome. The staff at Milton-Edgewood Eye Clinic is the best, sweetest and most attentive you will find! I went there as a kid, went my way and tried a few other places but ended up going back because they make you feel seen and help you see!
