I have cornea issues and am difficult to refract. They knew this when I made my appointment 6 months ago. I would never have come in if I knew, after that long wait, that the optometrist DOeSN'T exam your eyes or perform the refraction but leaves that important exam to technicians! So unprofessional! Also, I was in the office for HOURS waiting for my appointment! You would have thought that they weren't expecting me! If you want a good exam by a professional optometrist, go somewhere else!
I have gone to this clinic for years. I've never cared for anyone at the clinic except for the doctor. I recently started having a major eye issue and called them and they completely blew me off. They didn't call me back like they said they would. So I called the next day, and the exact same thing happened. Eventually, they did call me and said they were too busy to see me. Just use some eyedrops and hopefully it would get better. That was not ok. So I called another clinic who had never seen me before. The receptionist actually spoke to the doctor (Which you would think Pacific EyeCare would have done, but they did not) and he said I needed to be seen immediately. He had no open appointments but just had me come in and squished me in. He is now going to be our entire families new eye doctor. I will NEVER go back to Pacific EyeCare or recommend them to anyone.
I had a 3:30 appointment time. At 4:07 I asked the front desk when I was going to be seen. The receptionist said they << hadn't pulled my file yet >> and it would probably be at least another 10 minutes. I said someone should have let me know and her response was >>I didn't know so I couldn't tell you >>. Poorly run practice if they can't communicate with their front office team. I cancelled the appointment
Very expensive and long, long wait times. Once i got an appointment, i waited over 30 minutes in an empty exam room to see the Dr. I had my eyes examined, and if you want a copy of your prescription to take somewhere else to order your glasses, it will cost you an other $70. In my opinion, that is just a way to try and force you to buy your glasses there. The prices for their glasses and frames are RIDICULOUS. The Dr was very friendly but I will be looking for somewhere else for my next exam and eye glasses.
Not impressed at all with this place. I badly need treatment for glaucoma and cataracts. Explained that today Oct 10 to Pacific Eyecare. THEY COULD HAVE CARED LESS about my situation. The woman just curtly said "we are all booked through February, there is nothing we can do to help you before then."
Clearly, they care only about the $$$ and the money, like many health "care" (not really) places. They made no suggestions, didn't offer to take my name in case of a cancellation, nothing. Her attitude basically was "we're booked, leave us alone."
My experience from front desk to checkout was superior! Professional, organized, incredibly knowledgeable, personable, friendly, "real ", skillful, personalized service and care. The absolute BEST eye care experience in 60 years!! Yep, they are "short staffed" at this time, as many other companies right now. However, any delay is made up in Quality!! Thank you Dr. Ottemiller ( & assistant ) and Dianne!!
Sincerely,

I'm 59 years old with a history of eye issues, so I've seen a lot of ophthalmologists, but the care I received today was the best ever. Covid safety was off the chart. Staff was wonderful, attentive and well informed. Dr. Areiter and Nurse Courtney were a great team who performed the most comprehensive eye exam I've ever had. They took the time to really explore my issue and offered personal and detailed health plan. Plus it's a full service facility with Optometrists, Glasses showroom and everything for your eye needs. Cannot recommend high enough.
Dr. Lin and Dr. Noble are great! I have only had great experiences at Pacific EyeCare. And shout out to the Technicians and Opticians, they are pretty wonderful as well.
