Dr. Shawn Brittain

I have seen this eye doctor for over 25 years. I never had problems until my last visit. I was told that I had cataracts and needed to have them removed. Being in healthcare, I am fully aware that cataracts obstruct your vision. Mine was not. I didn't have them. I was pressured into making a decision, on the spot, to have said cataracts removed, right now, while in office. Knowing fully that pressing anyone to make risky decisions in a very short period of time is frowned upon in medicine, I said no. This type of situation needs clearance by insurance company, as well as mental preparation for the procedure itself. As a healthcare professional, I wouldn't recommend him at all. I would give a zero if I could. Any doctor who is willing to perfom an unnecessary procedure on an unsuspecting, misinformed person, needs to have their license revoked. It's medical fraud. I won't be going back ever again. Walmart Vision has better policies than this!

I highly recommend Dr. Brittian. He and his staff are very gracious and professional. He has always taken the time to explain the changes in my vision during my annual eye exams but even beyond that, last fall and winter he also fit me in when I had two eye emergencies -- even though he was fully booked. My ophthalmologist's office had told me they did not have any available appointments so I am very grateful Dr. Brittian was willing to see me on short notice and prescribe the appropriate treatment.

I highly recommend Dr. Brittain. I've consistently felt heard, helped and guided. He listens well, is kind and helpful.

First time in this office! Purchased 2 pairs of glasses and a full year supply of contact lenses! Dont be surprised if you wear contacts lenses to your appointment the doctor will look at your lenses on your eye and observe the fit, movement, and cleanliness of your contacts. Some doctors may even remove your lenses for you and insert a fresh pair with your new powers. Dr Bittian did remove my lenses gently and respectfully in office with no issues. Very smooth process, kind faces and will answer any questions you have!

Dr. Brittian is the BEST doctor I have ever had in my 40 years. This doctor is a rare gem! He actually cares about his patients and not sees them as a pay check. I have children with genetic eye disorder and when I had an emergency on a holiday weekend he not only called me but came in to his office just to see my son. I am considering flying back to WA just to see him since I have been here in CA for a year now and I still cannot find someone who evens comes close to Dr. Brittain.

Dr. Brittain and his staff are kind, caring and professional. They did a great job with my new glasses (the best I have ever had) and they take the time to understand your needs and HELP YOU! I very highly recommend going to Westside on Highway 99 for your next exam, glasses and/or contacts! And boy did they get my new glasses done quickly!!!

What I would actually like to say about my experience with Dr. Brittain and his staff would sound like ad copy written to promote him and you probably wouldn't believe me. I have been to several ODs (lasik, cataracts, contacts glasses etc..) and cannot emphasis enough how great this guy, and his peeps, were. This is the OD you are hoping to find!
