Updating review from 2-4 stars after a positive interaction! It had been the first negative review I'd ever left! I was incredibly unimpressed, but after leaving a review at peacehealth, I was contacted by the manager who was kind, sincere, helpful and apologetic.
My initial complaint was:
-overscheduling appointments with incredibly long wait times
-waiting in the phone cue as the"first person in line" for 20 minutes. Clearly no one is answering phones? Being placed on hold for 40 minutes and then dropped from the call.
- you better arrive EARLY. If you're a few minutes late and wait in line a few minutes to be checked in you forfeit your appointment (1O min late cancellation policy)
-l did like the doctor I saw!
I was extremely impressed by the way Dr. David Valent handled my mother's health concerns today. I appreciated the way he "owned the room" without arrogance or aggression. It was fun to watch quite frankly, the onslaught of facts and options got my mom's attention for sure. Both he and earlier, Amy, spoke to my hearing-challenged mother with clear and loud voices allowing her to hear dialogue without me having to translate back to her with my usual repeated yelling. Thank you to Dr. Valent's assistant Brandi as well. Lastly, whoever has the Michael Scott mood chart on their office door ... I tip my hat to you with great appreciation, and it shows a level of trust between co-workers that can share humor. Even if Dwight and Jim are fighting.
Today is 8/6/25, I saw Dr. Batista Opthalmologist on 5/7/25 he ordered a C-Reactive Protein blood test. I was told I would be contacted after test reults. Never was contacted to this date.
The PH test results page showed my results as normal. Nothing else was stated. The page said for more info on C-Reactive Protein test click here, but no further info. there. I feel I wasted my time and co-pay for nothing. I'd like to know what condition my eyes are in.
I woke up with my left eye blurry. My doctor referred me to PeaceHealth Eye care. The Appointment scheduler found me an appointment the same day. The Tech that did the preliminary examine was very nice and professional. The Ophthalmologist who reviewed my examine was also very nice and professional. He explained what the procedure would be to help resolve my issue. He answered all my questions and concerns. I was able to schedule an appointment for the procedure in two days with Dr Valent. He explained every step of the process, answered all my questions and was very empathic with my concerns. My husband who was a nurse was impressed with his knowledge and his caring of my issue. The office is very professional and caring. I will be coming here in the future for my annual exams.
I went in for a lump in my eyelid, was evaluated, after waiting an hour, and given an ointment and told to come back after a couple of weeks, if no improvement. After 2 weeks I called back and was told I would have to come back in for evaluation again and then schedule for removal. Next available appointment was 5 weeks! Who knows how long to schedule the minor procedure. When I questioned this the scheduler was pretty rude and said, that's just the way it is.
I chose to try Vancouver eye clinic. They got me in in one day. I was given a different ointment and had the same result. However, the difference is that when I called back to schedule the minor procedure they got me in right away. Great support staff and scheduling. They actually gave me the feeling that they CARE.
PeaceHealth eye clinic needs help with their support staff and scheduling practices.
Dr Rasky was super rude to my wife. He kept calling her the wrong name even after she corrected him. He was calling her super uncooperative when she was doing her best. (She had a scratched cornea, about 80% of it) When he finally realized that he should numb her he did but one second later he was mad at her again for not cooperating but he didn't give the numbing any time to start working. Sent her home with just antibiotics nothing else to help with the pain. Saw a different eye doctor the next day and they gave her a type of contact bandage for the pain so there was things that he could have done.
A little bit of a side note he didn't even ask who I was and kept calling me just her friend.
Overall very unhappy.
Checked in early with a very nice receptionist, filled out the customary paperwork, and was taken to a room within a reasonable time to be interviewed by whom I assume was a very pleasant Medical assistant. I was then taken to another waiting room, where I spent what was an hour late for the appointment. After waiting patiently for a hour, another whom I assume was another Medical Assistant, called for me, stating she can get me into s room to see the Doctor. I asked how long it would be before the Dr. would be in, and received a reply, 'maybe within 10 - 15 minutes. By this time no one I know of treats patients like this. This all seems to be normal for the Medical Assistant, and she stated it usually takes a hour or so.
No Thanks, I don't treat customers that way, and don't like to be treated that way either. Didn't see the Doctor, and rescheduling was three weeks out.
No Thank you, again.
Management is overbooking visits, leaving both the patient frustrated, and the Dr. over worked to get through the days calendar.
No, Thank you.
I will go elsewhere where the Dr. doesn't have the pressure, and time matters to everyone concerned.
2 Stars- the Receptionist was nice, the Medical Assistant was nice, didn't get the job done though.
My experiences here have been excellent in all respects. First, I was treated by Dr Jay Chapman. When he retired, I transferred to Dr Corey Baptiste. Both ophthalmologists are board certified, and provide excellent care. The staff is wonderful, and the affiliated optical shop is staffed by caring, knowledgeable opticians. I've been a patient here for several years, and give PH Eye Care my very highest recommendation.
