Just want to share my experience. The testing staff and Dr Ratcliff were very professional. I had a good experience in that respect. But the office staff made me pause due to a request I had. First, they are so booked a follow up eye exam requires a two month wait. Next, because I've broken my glasses, I requested the office to resend my previous prescription so I could have a new pair made until I could re-test. While a valid perscription if good for 1-3 years, they took my request to resend my perscription to me and write in huge letters across the entire page, EXPIRED, like it wasn't noticable on the top right. Sorry, for me, I can't wait 2 months for another test. But its ok everyone, because they don't need my buisness if they are so booked out. I'll just move on.

They changed my appointment three times last year before I finally called another office and got in within a week. Apparently the doctors don't work very much and they don't need any more customers.

The receptionist was very rude and the women assisting with glasses were stuck up. While I understand they're trying to sell glasses, their attitudes changed immediately after I declined to buy. The doctor, however, was very nice. I will not be returning.

Front desk lady is very rude every time I go in. If I ask a question she gets very annoyed to even answer as if she Hates her job. Very unprofessional in my opinion. However, the doctor is very thorough.

I had the absolute worst experience trying to schedule an eye exam. I just moved here from Alabama and I have BCBS. I found the number for the center through my BCBS app and it said that my insurance was accepted here. I call and a woman answered the phone, i explained to her that i needed to schedule a routine exam for myself and that i would be a new patient. She immediately says "It would be $232". I responded "I have insurance through BCBS, they should cover it." and she says "That's a health insurance. It would be $232." I tried to explain that i have vision insurance through BCBS and she was just not having it. Insisted that I had to have a different company for vision benefits. Spoke to me like I was an idiot the whole entire time. She even asked me where my mother worked. and i said "A health department in Alabama" and she goes "well that doesn't tell me anything." THEN WHY ASK?! Eventually I just asked "if i bring in my insurance card could you check that way?" and her response was "you can bring it, but i might not take it." Had me going around in circles for the entirety of the call. The most unproductive and pointless conversation i've ever had in my life. And even if my insurance wasn't covered, i would've had no issues covering the fee, but i refuse to support a clinic who is so carefree with the way they speak to prospective patients. I myself work in pharmacy and I would never speak to any of my patients the way i was spoken to!! And just to clarify, this was definitely the Huntington clinic.

Great service otherwise but store hours are incorrect or they decided upon themselves to close early. Came to pick up glasses and online said open... standing at the door lights off door is locked.. not open. Drove from other side of town for nothing. Not a huge deal but either fix the hours or don't close early without some type of posting.

I'm a guy who hasn't had a eye exam for a few years so I'm shopping for a place right? Call these people simply ask for a appointment for a eye exam ONLY and I want to pay cash. I come in I get the exam I pay you I'm gone. Simple. It took 3 different people...the first acts like I'm speaking Spanish and scoffs like I was a peasant bothering royalty. The second was more of the first just bigger muscles. The third came on saying if you don't have insurance it's gonna be $232.00 out of pocket (more peasant complex) I didn't say I didn't have insurance it's just the price of an eye Exam by itself at Lenscrafters at the mall is around $120.00. I had one there 4 or 5 years ago but wanted something closer to home. I figured I'd pay 140 bucks and move on to a place where I can pick frames I like. But see they don't want you to do that and that I believe was the whole issue. The best part is when I asked her if she would accept my Aetna better health insurance she acted like I offered her Covid. So my Aetna health insurance and $140.00 bucks cash can't get me a BASIC eye exam at that!! This place doesn't care about The little guy and every person had a negative attitude I spoke with. Especially the one in charge at the time whoever she was. Sounded like a younger girl that spoke maybe one guy I believe and a much older lady that was really suppressing anger and quite possibly shame I'm not sure but it was aimed at me today and I had 100 percent true intentions of being cool today and getting my eyes fixed. They did this

I had a very disappointing experience here last week. From the start I was not friendly greeted, instead, I had a clipboard shoved at me by the receptionist. As I filled out my paperwork in their waiting area, I listened as the receptionist rudely spoke to the patient on the other line. Then, she went and started gossiping about that same patient within earshot of all the other patients in the waiting area - complaining that a mother was trying to get her child seen before school started again. Following an ok experience with their technician, I had a visit with the Dr. He was the only positive. Very nice. Then it was time to get glasses.... the optician couldn't have been more rude. She acted like she would have rather been anywhere else. When I had questions about my insurance (because I have 2), she rolled her eyes and began investigating on her computer. Mind you, I had mentioned to the receptionist when booking the appointment that I had 2 types of vision insurance and indicated it on my paperwork. Come to find out they don't accept one of my insurance types. This would have been great to know before the exam and appointment. Their frame selection was poor, with hardly any choices for females. The optician made zero suggestions. After not finding anything promising, I decided to keep my current glasses and get new lenses. Then, I'm told I owe almost $300! When I asked why, she didn't want to tell me. I asked to see a breakdown of what was costing so much, she wouldn't show me. Shady. Then I asked how much my prescription had changed and she couldn't even tell me that! I told her to print off my script and I would just figure it out myself. After many rounds of going back and forth, I told her to forget the lenses and I would go somewhere else. I was still left with a $130 bill for extra tests that weren't necessary. How can someone with two types of vision insurance have a $130 balance and leave with no glasses? Spare yourself the headache and go somewhere else.
