Insight is absolutely wonderful in my opinion! I have special visual needs, and insight has continually been very responsive to those needs. I feel like part of the family there, and know that they are always going to do their very best to take care of me! knowledgeable and caring, what more country you want
I just had the pleasure of speaking with the receptionist at your Appleton location, and she deserves a review all her own--what a gem! She instantly put me at ease with her kindness and reassurance. Not only did she help, but she also genuinely lifted my spirits--talk about going above and beyond. Employees like her are rare and truly make a difference. She's a one-in-a-million!
Dr. Beers goes the extra mile to make sure that your prescription is really dialed in. She's a great eye doctor. The front desk woman has horrible people skills and a very off-putting attitude, other members of staff are not friendly also. The front desk woman in particular is easily flustered and has seemed annoyed every time I've interacted with her.
Tonight, after getting my prescription a month or two ago, I stopped back in to look at frames. Easily-annoyed / rude desk lady was speaking with another customer when I walked in. I walked past the front desk into the frames area and began looking at options, when another male staff member approached me and said "Hey, you know she (grumpy desk woman) was talking you when you walked in and you ignored her, that's pretty rude wouldn't you say?"
#1) she had another customer in front of her that she was helping and speaking to when I walked in. I had no clue anyone was speaking to me. That's not reasonable to assume that if you're in the middle of a conversation with another person, that I should be on alert that you may need to break that conversation to accost my peace as a penalty for entering your conversational proximity zone.
#2) that's ridiculous to assume the worst in a customer, that I'm trying to slight the front desk woman by ignoring her maliciously for absolutely no reason. Approach me and say "Hi sir, we have a policy that you check in prior to looking at frames" if that's the case and just let me know she was trying to get my attention.
#3) that's a ridiculous policy but I apologized anyway even though I did not hear her and walked back to the front desk to see what she had been trying to say to me. I was told that I needed to wait my turn as she was with another customer at the time.
This happened at 5:45pm. They close at 6. So I had a member of staff approach me pretty.... Assertively..... to call me rude for not noticing the front desk woman yapping at me while I tried to walk in to look for frames. I then walked back and was held up when I only had 15 minutes to shop before close anyways, to wait for a now visibly shaken and irritated front desk woman to arbitrarily check me in when I needed absolutely no assistance from her or other staff members at all. This took another 5 minutes or so out of the short window of time that I had that I was trying to shop efficiently with.
I'm not really sure, it felt like a twilight zone experience but I do know I struggle with desk staff every time I'm in and everyone that I interacted with tonight was very rude and I did not do or say anything at all to cross any of them or behave in any manner other than kindly and professionally, and came in looking to conduct business in a normal and decent way.
The Oshkosh folks are way less weird.
I have received several eye exam's here, the doctor's have always been great. The front desk receptionist has poor customer service. Her body language suggests she's easily annoyed when being asked or providing answers to simple questions. She doesn't make me feel welcomed at all. Lost a customer.
The only reason they get one star is because of Dr. Matz. I took my son in for an exam and new frames if needed. The woman at the front desk is not very personable and seemed disinterested and ungracious. We were new to this doctor with hopes of finding a new eye doctor for our family. Our old doctor retired. We will keep looking for a doctor.
My son's appointment with Dr. Matz went well and that's when the experience shifted to very negative. After my son's appointment he was directed to look at frames. He found some he liked and we tried to get the optical departments male employee to help. Not a hello, not a be right with you, nothing. We just stood there holding the frames, milling about for 15 minutes. We decided to leave and come back the next day.
We arrived around 4 pm to try to get my son's glasses ordered. The woman at the front desk seemed irritated again, and was not helpful. All I needed was someone to tell me the "procedure" to spend money on frames and that would have been fine. Instead she said, "well, that is optical" and there are people in front of you. Again, that is fine. I don't mind waiting if there is an indication of time involved; this would be helpful knowledge when you check in for your appointment. So, my son went all the 6 feet into the optical department and found the frames he wanted. There was a family in front of us at the counter with the frame guy. When they walked away we approached the man and said we just needed to order some frames and lenses. He said there was another appointment ahead of us and we could see him then. I assumed this meant the family that just left the counter, but it was not. We waited 20 minutes while the man did something on his computer and the family mulled about. We left when the woman asked if they were holding him up from seeing other people. He said no, there is an appointment that isn't there yet not meaning us.
I understand they may have been busy, but come on, how long can it take to write down a simple order? I would think it would be unsustainable to operate with such customer service.
We left. We will not go back. I am sure they don't care.
I can't recommend this team enough! I had a painful and unusual issue with my eye that quickly worsened - they got me in to be seen quickly, helped me resolve the issue and took time to answer all my questions. Dr Beers was so informative and friendly. Highly recommend!
Let's face it. Finding a new doctor can be scary. Having to find a new EYE DOCTOR? Also horrific. I am so incredibly thankful that the first place I tried when I moved was Insight. Everyone on the team is so helpful and patient. I feel like if I have a concern with my vision, I am always heard. Dr Beers is an absolute treasure and she has a staff to match. Allie is always so cheerful when I call or have to come in to the office. She often has to help me figure out what is going to be the best route when it comes to insurance questions. As much as I wish I had natural 20/20 vision, I would miss seeing(ha, puns are cool) everyone at Insight
visits have always been quick and painless, and all the staff are nice. especially John. John is insanely sweet. thank you John
