I last went to Stanton Optical, which was a huge mistake. Geraets is easily a 10 times better experience overall - better frames, better prescription, easier to use my insurance... and most importantly, you actually see an actual doctor and not some remote doctor in another country. I especially liked the sunglass frame options. Also Flexon, which only a few places in town seem to have (with my insurance anyway). I forgot how much I liked Flexon and other places don't have anything nearly as good for lightweight metal frames.

WOW! I was truly impressed with Dr. Geraet's thorough refraction and eye exam. He was calm and professional, so I could relax, and he could get the needed pictures. He spent lots of time trying to adjust my prescription so I could see better. At the end, he thoroughly and professionally explained to me and my husband the various eye problems I had. He even showed clear magnified pictures of both eyes, so I could see what was wrong. I went to him in the first place because my husband had been impressed and for years we had been getting our glasses from him. Since Medicare does not cover refractions, I paid for it myself. Price was more than fair considering the huge amount of time he spent with the machines and explanations. See you in a year, Dr. G.

I have been with Dr Gerates for 13 years. He is an excellent doctor who has referred me to opthomology several times bc of on going eye issue. He has taken wonderful care of me over the years bc he cares deeply about his patients. I would highly recommend him. His expertise and knowledge makes him an outstanding optometrist.

Dr. Gareats and his team have been very professional, accommodating and pleasant. There's no salesmanship or pressure to buy certain frames or lenses; just honest advice from a doctor to a patient. The level of service provided here is reason alone to support this local business. Both the exam and assistance with choosing glasses far exceeded my expectations.

Wanting to support a local business as I try to whenever I can. The phone conversation was odd from the start. They asked when can I come in and it was weirdly odd on their attempt to set a simple appointment. I set a appointment which was like pulling teeth to get one. The Dr was not upfront with me. It seemed like he wanted to do the exam but wasn't telling me how much the exam was. Then I bluntly asked how much is the exam. He said he will bill my insurance 200$ I wish he would of told me from the start. Good luck folks

I went as a new patient Novemeber 2023. I told him I typically order online. He said he could typically price about the same ordering through him and seemed reluctant to share my prescription which legally must be done immediately after exan digitally or by paper. He wouldnt confirm my prescription with Target Optical when I ordered online 7/12/24. Told them my prescription expired and I was seen January 2023. Well I have the receipt to prove otherwise. My 4 boxes was $115.20 after applying my insurance compared to $49.86 at Target Optical. I then called him asking him for a copy of my prescription since I was there 7 months ago, he said I ordered 4 boxes which is considered a year supply so my prescription is no longer valid. Go read the FTC Rules on Prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses so you know your rights if you're going to go to this guy I have confirmed with Target Optical and Shopko optical the laws. I probably paid for my exam after insurance what I would out of pocket elsewhere.

I found Dr. Gareats to be very polite and professional. My appointment with him was a pleasant experience. I'm giving 5 stars because I can't give him 10, I 100 percent recommend visiting
