Cook's Family Eyecare

I absolutely adore Dr Cooke and his entire team. The only reason for this review is because he moved his practice 3 weeks ago but I was still able to make appointments for my 2 kids and me online. I showed up excited to see one of my favorite doctors just to learn he closed his practice on US-280 and moved it to Tuscaloosa. No call, no letter, nothing. Very disappointed

Went once and loved the team, now on 4 months of no calls or help getting contacts that were ''delayed'' twice before he moved his office to Tuscaloosa (within a week of notifying me and telling me I COULD get a refund... not that they would automatically do it... just could maybe.) No one has helped even when I followed the steps they asked me to. Disappointed. My insurance is messed up because of it too.

I've seen Dr. Cook every year since moving to Birmingham in 2009. I have never had a desire to go elsewhere! My husband began seeing Dr. Cook in 2012 when he moved to the Alabama as well. He will not see any other eye doctor! My husband is the type to not have a strong opinion on much but on this topic, he has a definite opinion. He really likes and trusts Dr. Cook, as do I. The entire staff is just wonderful all around. In our experience, everyone has always been extremely professional and personable! They are always great about scheduling or rescheduling appointments, if need be. You can absolutely tell that the staff truly cares about their patients. It's so nice! Any time I need a copy of my prescription or anything, they have it ready within minutes. They're great about doing referrals too. With every encounter, in person, or phone, in the past 8 years, I've been very pleased with how they've handled each situation. We were out of state for a few months and I needed to order contacts. They put my order in and even shipped them to me out of state, without any issues and they didn't charge me for shipping! I recommend Dr. Cook and his staff without hesitation!

Let me start off by saying that myself, my parents, sister, and my grandmother all use Cook's Family Eye Care. We have seen Dr. Cook since he moved to this location years ago. I had a yearly exam today which is what encouraged me to write this review. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Cook and his wonderful staff! I never dread having an eye exam because Dr. Cook makes you feel like you have been friends for years. I am always greeted when I walk in and never have to wait longer than 5 minutes to get started with my exam. (I work in the healthcare industry and can say from first-hand experience.. you rarely find physicians like Dr. Cook!) He is friendly, genuine, caring, knowledgeable, funny and very approachable. He does thorough eye exams and always takes the time to talk to you about your health. Dr. Cook also does an excellent job of explaining things in layman's terms.... he is not a doctor that talks over your head. He obviously loves his job and genuinely wants to educate his patients. Dr. Cook always asks about my family and even remembers little details that let you know he truly cares about you. He has wonderful bed side manner and never fails to make me laugh. Dr. Cook is truly the best optometrist in the industry... I will be a patient for life!

My wife, my son and I have all been patients of Dr. Cook for years. When my mother moved to town, she became a patient as well. Extremely satisfied! Dr. Cook and his staff are caring, accommodating and very competent. It just does not get better than Cook's Family Eyecare.

We just moved to STLouis and had our eye appointments (husband, daughter and I) to establish doctor/patient relationships. Boy do we miss Dr. Cook. He is caring, loving, relational, funny and much more. He can not be replaced. Thank you so much for all you did for us. You are more than a doctor. Many blessings. Brenda Angus

What an awesome experience! Everyone is friendly and provides outstanding customer service! My eye exam was thorough and I learned a lot from Dr. Cook who answered my questions in layman's terms and with analogies that were easy to understand! Highly recommend!! Nice selection of glasses, too! I was quite happy to take advantage of the special that allowed me to get a pair of prescription sunglasses with free lenses! WooHoo!

Poor experience. Scheduled online and provided my insurance information well before the appointment. Made appointment arrangements then got to the appointment only to be told they don't take that insurance. What's the use of putting your information in online if they don't look at it. Don't waste your time.
