The staff at JJ Eyes in Birmingham bent over backwards to quickly get specific frames that I wanted to try on, which happened to be at their Fairhope office. I'm a busy professional and needed to get in and out of their office quickly, and what they provided was nothing short of the VIP treatment. The quality of my frames and lenses are amazing. The staff are friendly, accommodating and go above and beyond.

The best optical shop in Birmingham hands down. My glasses are the best I've ever purchased, and the employees took extra care to take measurements no other optical shop has ever taken. It was like getting a suit made-to-measure, except for my lenses. The frame selection was great, but not overwhelming, and I felt encouraged and guided by Sam and Borden. I'm definitely going back for prescription sunglasses!

If you want to see how many stars they truly deserve, look to the night sky. I just deleted what could be considered a tome. Rambled about the endless special things they went out their way to do for me. Trying to keep this short is taking massive self-control. Here's what you need to know: They do care. Before, during, and after. They texted me weeks later *solely* to see if I was still happy with my frames and lenses. They want everything to be perfect for us. To JJ Eyes' staff, my stay in Alabama was always meant to be just a few months. Moving permanently to Baltimore. Please know you did make a forever impression. I will always compare *every* business to you, including companies I work for. You define excellence.

While on vacation I went into JJ Eyes with a 1.5 year old glasses I got in Madison, WI that have NEVER worked for me: never fit, never seemed to improve my vision. I twice took them back to the original vendor, and also to two other optic shops. All fiddled with them with a kind of patronizing implication that it's just a matter of "getting used to" the prescription and besides, the frames looked great on me. Never mind the deep grooves they were cutting into my face! My problem, not theirs. But JJ Eyes spent focused time with me and identified concrete reasons for the bad fit: I should've had an Asian nose bridge, one of my ears is higher than the other, the lens cut is too heavy so the weight pulls them too low on my face. And then they actually checked the prescription against the lens refraction and discovered that the left lens spec had been transposed. No wonder my vision was always wonky, that I always had headaches!! I feel vindicated but more important, I am SO grateful to have found JJ Eyes! I ordered an entirely new pair (with a guarantee!), expertly fitted by Malia Denali, and got a serious education in the process. I may fly down to Birmingham every time I need glasses, from here on out. Lucky you who can just drive over there!

When I first bought my glasses, the day of, Paula Ann tried to adjust them for me. She ended up damaging them, so much so that JJ couldn't even repair the glasses she damaged. Eventually she gave in and offered me a new pair for the damage she did, but only after she berated me in front of the store staff and the other shoppers. Overall, it was a terrible experience, enough so that I'm finding another shop to go to. I would avoid this shop if you can -- and this is coming from someone who has shopped with them for years.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. First time in and we could have been life long customers had the woman that greeted us this morning with an empty store, save for one other employee who I think was the doctor, had not been totally unhelpful and out right rude the minute she assumed she wasn't getting any money out of me. When store owners, managers or workers have an attitude that the customer should be grateful for their service, rather than them being grateful for your business, they have completely lost the plot. Don't waste your time or money here, go to LensCrafters where you can get designer glasses and tons of discounts. Go anywhere else eve if you spend more. They don't deserve your business at JJ Eyes. Here is my experience. I first asked if they had the capacity to produce frames with lenses in 24-48 hours because my son is travelling soon and needed his first pair of glasses, she politely said No. That's where the politeness ended. When I then asked if she knew anywhere that could help us, like LensCrafters, she again said no. I'm sure she did know but just refused to help. How could you be in the eyewear business and not know? I then asked if she would help my son find a style of frame that suited him, because I had read that was their specialty and no-one else did that to which she replied "well sweety that's part of our full service and if you are just going to take your money elsewhere..." I was shocked that she couldn't even be bothered to spend any time helping my son try on some styles because we would have to go elsewhere because they don't have the capacity to get us the glasses within than 7 days. Well, honey that is your job! Before I left, I told her that while we had to rush his first pair, he would need more, that I needed a new pair, that my husband needs two new pairs and we could have spent a lot of money there but if she didn't want to help us... I did take my son and my money to LensCrafters and spent almost $1,000 on two pairs of designer glasses, Ray Bans and Oakleys. We walked out with his glasses in an hour. JJ Eyes needs to get new employees or God help her if she was the owner. Judging from other scathing reviews of terrible customer service here it's not a one-off. Don't bother supporting this local business, because they won't do a damn thing to support you - the customer.

A++; may upgrade your level on the hotness scale by a point or two. Individual results may vary I walk in, it's super boutiquey, they definitely care about how inviting the place is. Almost so neat it's scary, even the magazines are set on the table ever-so-perfectly, and dust-free. Pairs of glasses everywhere, more than I've seen at any other place. Now, glasses for me are a challenge. My head is very large in both directions, I was afraid that I would need to custom order my glasses somewhere. The sales gal there (I forget her name, unfortunately) went through the cycle of trying them on, seeing how they fit/looked, and putting them in the "yes" or "no" pile with me. She was very blunt and upfront and did not skirt around what she meant to say. I definitely appreciated the honesty, people aren't that brave in most places. After going through pretty near the entire collection, we found a pair of glasses that fit me like a hug and that she said looked good on me. I'm serious, it feels like these glasses are hugging my face perfectly, it's wonderful. They WERE outside what I would normally aim for, but I took her word for it that they looked good. Anyways, the glasses come in a week later, she loosens them up a bit, I am sent on my way. I've worn glasses for years, so keep this in mind. Now I've had at least one friend who never mentioned my looks in any way tell me I'm cute with them on, I've been ogled more, and even publicy pursued some. It's not entirely bragging if it's true! So anyways, thanks for the confidence boost, I definitely got what I paid for. The service and product quality are great here. Would recommend to anybody willing to shell out the money for a high-end pair of glasses.

Can't say enough about the Excellent experiences I've had at JJ Eyes! Superb customer service and High Quality products. All staff are very helpful and pleasant. Especially Sam!!
