Omg, the service from the time i walked in to the time I walked out was phenomenal and the staff is incredibly helpful, especially Ms. Farrah.

This place deserves zero stars for how they treated me when I was there a year ago. Being the fact that I was a new customer and that was my first and last visit btw, I'm surprised they're still in business. The eye examiner waited til she got me back there in the exam room to get smart with me and tell me to quit asking her questions bcuz she was tryna do her work. I couldn't believe I actually sat through that as patiently as I did but that young black lady took it a step further and got a smart mouth and giving me bad information on top of it. At that point], she was gonna catch a beat down but I called Birmingham police before that happened. Thanks to them they quelled the situation so I could finish my appointment. Throughout this ordeal, I referred to Dr. Hodges about his assistant's behavior for which he did nothing each time I told him what she did. He even told me to go back in the room with her to finish up the exam! Dr. Hodges' apathy and nonchalant demeanor fueled the behavior of the person working in liaison with him, and put an unprofessional, lazy and trashy vibe on him and his practice. It's disgusting to walk into a business that doesn't know what it means to present decency and respect to it's PAYING customers. Corporate actually reached out to me for the review I left last year. Mrs. J. Sanders was who I spoke to. She claimed she was the top person to talk to about a complaint. But after back n forth with her for two days, her response was "We have over 1,000 offices in the US and there's just no way we can handle every complaint that we get." Well I didn't want her to handle every complaint, just mine! Talk about getting nowhere. Dr. Hodges better be very, very careful the way he plays down the actions of his staff and himself. Looking at these other complaints on here, I almost said something else in this space.

I've always had my eyes cared with My EyeDr. My usual location WAS on the parkway but it was later closed down in which I started going to the 5pts West location due to the kind of glasses I was seeking. Well I purchased a pair of 550 Cazal glasses. I've ALWAYS wanted a pair. We'll let me say. It was the WORST idea I've ever made. I purchased them in back at the end of 2024 around November and they have fell apart over 10 times. It's ALWAYS the shield part along with the arm ( or what ever it's called that goes behind the ear) that fall apart. Like I was in a conversation with a guy friend and they LITERALLY fell apart. I was so embarrassed. And I e paid over $600.00 + on these garbage of glasses. Wish I could give them back and select some that will NOT embarrass me during a conversation. Or better yet IN PUBLIC so PLEASE SO NOT BUY I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Had a great experience the staff were amazing

I have gone to this location for the past 15 or so years with satisfactory results. My last experience, starting in February, has been an ordeal! To make a long story short, i couldn't focus after receiving my glasses. My eyes were then re examined. I was told new lenses were ordered. After three weeks, I was told that they were never ordered. They promised to order them. After not hearing from them in a month, I called only to find they still were not ordered. I contacted corporate, but no one has responded. I cannot see and more than likely, I will have to pay out of pocket for someone else to fix things. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this location, and probably none of the others.

Tried to be as honest as possible with my experience below: Great service when it comes to appointments with the doctors and nurses. The staff are very nice too, both in-person and on the phone. HOWEVER please think twice about ordering glasses from this location (buy your lenses from another location or online). I had an order filled in-store for my prescription glasses on November 28th for $312 after insurance coverage. It was delayed in December and had to call in to make a new order request on December 18th. Now on February 12th the order was lost and had to get another new order made, which won't be done until end of February/ beginning of March. Had to order another pair online since my last pair was tearing so I can keep driving. The staff are working with me, which is a plus in this situation. With around 70-80 days of total wait time for the glasses, please use my experience as a warning just in case you need to order perscription lenses.

I'm feeling frustrated by the poor job you guys did with my glasses lens. Last year they did my glasses correctly, but this year you didn't put in anti-reflective lenses and still left my glasses crooked and poorly fitted. I depend on my glasses every day. That was a lack of respect. You guys did not even make a point of making sure my glasses were ok before I left there. I'm disappointed. I don't ever want to go back there again. I wasted money and time.
