Sara Mullins MD

Doctor Mullins is the very Best Eye Doctor I have ever had . Recently had cataracts surgery and it couldn't have been explained better and my RK surgery in 1992 complicated the calculation for each eye . Doctor Sarah was spot on with her diagnosis . Best Doctor who truly cares about her patients! 5 Stars are not enough for her in my Eyes !

Dr. Mullins is a problem solver. I was having double vision and when I mentioned it to my previous doctor, an optometrist, she checked and said she couldn't find any problem. My book club told me to come see Sara. There was a problem and she figured it out immediately, but also did tests to make sure the problem wasn't being caused by an underlying issue. We are now figuring out the best way to treat it. It does not take more than a few minutes to discern how intelligent she is, but she explained everything clearly and is very professional yet personable. I will be coming to her from now on. I want to keep my vision forever and I trust her to make that happen. My husband is switching to her now, as well.

Dr. Mullins and her staff are always attentive and caring. Dr. Mullins is very personable and always takes the time to explain things thoroughly. She's clearly VERY smart but takes the time to dumb things down for me! Haley is always my nurse who does the exam and she's also smart, caring and charismatic. Over all I would recommend any and everyone who needs to see an eye doctor to come here!

I have been seeing Dr. Mullins for years (since she graduated from school almost!) I was shocked today. I went with my husband to his appointment and I planed on asking about a prescription I'd picked up last week. My glasses broke and the prescription was from back in 2020. I had seen Dr. Mullins in March of this year, but she said I didn't need new glasses. She has never been a you need new glasses advocate and I loved that about her, not trying to pad someone's pockets when it is really unnecessary . I walked up to the counter and a person behind the counter handed me another prescription, that was different than the one I had picked up the week before. I was in shock because I was not expecting to get another totally different prescription than I had already been given last week, when I ran in the office to grab it . I said which one of these is correct, they were totally different! I had not been given a new prescription back in March of 2022. I tried to tell them that, but the office manager came to the desk and raised her voice and told me I could make another appointment if I needed my eye's checked. I have never been so embarrassed in my life! Dr. Mullins appeared and you would have thought the front desk was on fire! She knew there was a problem and instead of explaining to me, my prescription (that she did NOT give me) had changed just slightly, but this was the most current refraction. Instead she exited the room and I went to the guy at the front (the glasses department) and he went and pull the chart and explained what someone at the front desk should have with out screaming at me. Dr. Mullins did not prescribe new glasses because there was such a slight changed, but I could not get new glasses because it was an old prescription . I didn't need another appointment, I needed to be treated like a human being. I was shocked at Dr. Mullins retreat. I liked her very much, she had always been kind and very friendly and should have address this situation with me. Meanwhile my husband is in the back having his appointment and she kept telling him Don't allow anyone to tell you that you need surgery, he was oblivious to what had happened. He said so that was probably why she kept say don't let who ever you go to next tell you that you need surgery. I had told the glasses fitter I would not be back , me or my household. They graduate new Doctors every year and I had been riding by Callahan Eye Foundation office in Trussville to see her. I will not pass by and go out of my way again, since she could not address this uncomfortable situation for me, I just wanted to get a new pair of glasses, I didn't break mine two year old pair, they fell apart.

Dr. Mullins truly cares about her patients. She is working with me to help my dad with cataracts and glasses. She does everything she can do to solve any issues or problems. Great doctor. I am a nurse and I highly recommend her to everyone.

Dr. Mullins and her staff are seriously amazing people!! I feel like she has been a tremendous advocate for my health and well being. Her and her staff are all super smart and sweet!!! I cannot recommend this practice enough :)
