Schaeffer Eye Center

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Had an eye exam and ordered glasses. First pair came in with the wrong prescription. They redid my eye exam and said they made a mistake so they reordered my glasses. 2 weeks later I hadn't heard a word so I called. Was put on hold for 20 min. I hung up at 20 min. Called back. Was put on hold for 7 min. Finally told my glasses had been shipped back with demo lenses installed. They apologized and told me when I came in I could select a pair of sunglasses as compensation for my trouble. Another 10 day wait. Glasses come in. I go to get them and ask about the offer of sunglasses. A nasty woman announces loudly from behind a counter that she's the only person that can approve such an offer and she doesn't know anything about it. So I tell her, well, that's what I was offered on the phone. She tells me she'll have to investigate it. A little while later they call and tell me that they have "a" pair of sunglasses I can have. No choice allowed. I go to get them and they are a pair that was clearly returned by someone. I ask to speak to the "manager" and all of a sudden she's unavailable. These people lie. They are overworked and under supported by the company. I'll never do business with them again. 36 days to get a pair of glasses is absurd and reneging on their offer is simply amateur. So sad this is what this business has been reduced to.

I had a pair of glasses and got a second pair here, but the new prescription wasn't working fine for me so I had to go back to change the lenses. Everyone was nice during first visit, but when I returned, Dr. Benjamin was behaving very badly that I got stressed out. I even asked her about it, but she didn't seem to care and called me confused and said I don't know what I want! (Of course, that's why we need help of a doctor!) I don't know if she had other problems or what but that's not a good excuse to treat a patient like that!

Horrible experience. This is NOT Schaeffer Eye Clinic! But, they don't tell you that. I did not get what I asked for and was told i could not get the custom lenses I wanted. Yet, the old pair of lenses from Schaeffer were exactly what I wanted. Selection of frames, Limited, especially on the high end. Their service is basic and over priced!

Worst experience ever and they don't even care. Told me I couldn't wear contacts (even though I have none to wear anymore) and I needed to wear glasses, except my glasses are broken and I can't see out of them. Bought new glasses told they would be in next week, but when I called they said it would be another week. I also have an eye condition that requires eye drops but they won't approve the insurance to cover them. So now I can't see, have severe migraines because of it and my eyes burn all the time. Every time I call for help and they speak to me as if I am stupid every single time. Don't waste your time here they don't actually help you they just want your money.

This was the worst Schaeffer experience I've EVER had. I arrived for my appointment a little early and filled out the paperwork to update my information. I was the only patient in the waiting room. I waited 50 mins before seeing the doctor. They directed another patient in to the room I was already in. On my way out after paying I asked for my prescription and they gave me my old perscription and not all of my personal information had been updated and it was not signed by the doctor - which I did not realize until I was ordering my glasses, elsewhere of course. A very unpleasant experience and waste of time. Very inefficient staff. I would not have given them one star but I could not post unless I did.

For some 15 years, I've been visiting Schaeffer Eye Center under the care of Dr. Patricia Benjamin. She has been terrific: friendly, attentive and wry in making sure my eyes aren't suffering from the glare of all those screens. I see more clearly thanks to Schaeffer.

Worse experience ever. Don't use them and save yourself some frustrations!!!
