You will see many 5 star reviews on this doctor but they don't tell the full story. Dr. Blackburn is a great doctor until you have a problem with him. I had come in for a annual, routine eye exam back around August of last year like I always do except this time I was getting examined for a new prescription. I had never had a refraction done by Dr. Blackburn before but I assumed he would be competent. Two weeks later when I went to pickup my new prescription glasses I immediately felt something was off with the prescription and my eyes started to dry out and burn. I contacted Dr. Blackburn's office and asked for a call back from him but he never called. I then decided to go get a second opinion and it was discovered that he had not refracted me correctly. I then reached back out to Dr. Blackburn again and asked to come in and have him re examine me to discuss the findings. He set an appointment for me a few days later which I showed up to as scheduled. However, Dr. Blackburn kept me waiting for over an hour past my appointment time and still was not ready to see me when he stopped by my room. He offered no apology and spoke rather rudely to me. I ended up having to leave due to other responsibilities that I had scheduled that day. Neither he nor his staff ever apologized about the incident or offered to do anything to rectify the eye exam mistake. My opinion of Dr. Blackburn is his practice has grown too large for him to manage anymore. He and his staff have become inept at being able to schedule appointments with patients and this is causing poor service, severe delays and double bookings. It is my recommendation that anyone considering seeing Dr. Blackburn that is not already a current patient should seek out another optometrist that has a smaller practice.

Smart, caring professionals that run a great office! Dr. Blackburn is not your regular optometrist; he does a detailed exam of your eyes. He Made me aware of my cataracts, my choices, and helped me decide which kind of lens to get after I had the operation. I wouldn't know what to do without them.

After having not been able to see very well for several years, a friend suggested I make an appointment with Dr. Michael Blackburn. I can't speak highly enough of Vision Source and Dr. Blackburn. The entire experience, from the moment I walked in, was personal. Everyone was friendly and efficient! Dr. Blackburn was a great listener and took the time to address all my questions and concerns. I left feeling confident in the care I received and literally cried when fitted with my new contacts because I could clearly see again! If you're looking for quality care with a compassionate and knowledgeable doctor, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Blackburn!

I have been going to Dr. Blackburn for years. He is always very professional and explains in detail the different things he is doing, but he is also genuinely interested in my family and how we are doing. He is a great eye doctor! His office staff and assistants are great and always make sure I feel comfortable. My eye doctor visits are quick and easy, and they have ways been always been so helpful when I've had issues with my glasses in the past.

I enjoy and appreciate the small local doctors' over chain places. The selection of frames may be smaller, but I feel it's a wide selection of quality frames. There are unique frames and traditional frames. The doctor and staff are knowledgeable and take their time with you. You feel as a customer and patient should- feeling heard, seen, and important in that moment.

Dr Blackburn is so nice. He takes his time explaining procedures. He has a calming demeanor. Dr Blackburn and his staff are very knowledgeable. I would and have recommended him to my friends and family.
