Gadsden Eye Associates

Dr Catanzaro is the best eye doctor I've ever had. He's thorough, kind and thoughtful in his advice for my eye situation at each annual exam. He also performed my cataract surgery a few years ago and it was a seamless experience. Very pleased with the outcome. I cannot recommend him any more highly. The staff in the back area where they conduct the eye tests are also top notch, professional and friendly. The optical shop folks are also so very kind, professional and helpful as well. In particular I recommend asking for Tabitha. She's assisted me for many years and has had so much patience, helping me through a tough time with my eye situation back before cataract surgery. My one slight complaint about the entire experience is the staff at the front desk check in and check out areas. They are, at times, a bit less friendly and welcoming than the staff in the back. They are efficent at their jobs which is the most important part but a smile and a kind word from them could go a long way at putting patients at ease.

Two hours. For a 3-5 minute visit with the doctor. I arrived a few minutes before my 10:00 appointment. Finished a few minutes before noon. Seems that with as many people working in the office as there was, the flow could be more efficient. Everyone was pleasant, but not efficient. Called up to receptionist desk, and then staff are talking to each other and ignoring me. I miss the days where doctors offices were a professional place to visit.

The office and doctors and staff were fine. I cannot elaborate or comment on the physical quality of glasses as I have not received them yet. My concern relates to how the patient feels after their office visit. I felt like this office was strictly trying to process as many patients as possible to maintain insurance profitability. It seemed like a "cattle car". I overheard comments from team members that the perceived chaos was an "everyday" occurrence, when I asked if they were busy due to other reasons. Our initial appointment was for 930am and we were not called to the exam area until 1010 am. They did take both my spouse and I at the same time as we had a 930 and 1030 appt. This was appreciated, however scheduling appears to be an issue from my initial perspective. When we were taken back to the exam area for our initial consultation and medical review it was not in a private setting. We were in a larger room with three techs servicing 5 different patients, so be prepared to have others listen and hear your private medical information. This was the setup for the entire experience. I commented that I was not comfortable with the set-up, and a reply was "we get that from some of our patients sometimes" The "cattle car" experience continued thru the doctor visit and consultation. When I receive my glasses, which we purchased three pair, we will decide at that time we can overcome the "cattle car" experience or if we need to find a more traditional eye doctor office setting.

My husband and I went to Gadsden Eye Assosciates, Feb.12,2026. We didn't wait very long until we were called back, the assistant's were ready for us and they started the eye test, questions, then Dr Mark Hill, came in and examined our eyes, very thoroughly. Everyone was so nice and professional, we were very pleased with our visit .the office was very nice and clean. He also told me my macular degeneration was very light and I would probably never never be bothered with it. What a relief that was to me . It was reasonably time set good. My only concern was that, people was squeezed in the back waiting area when waiting to go back to see the Doc. With covid & flu on a rise again. And so many elders. I wish they would have the area out in the lobby by the restroom area as the extra over flow for this issue. The chairs are way to crunched together with this concern. I saw a couple of elders that could be fragile & sure didn't need to be around such concern's. Please consider addressing this, during this time of sickness on a rise again. The staff and Doctors were all professional & prompt. THANK YOU FOR NOT LEAVING US THERE FOR LONG PERIOD OF TIME. THIS IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED

The staff is awesome. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The office was covered up when I got there but I got to see Dr. Tony much quicker than I expected. Their system from check in to picking frames is very efficient. I was having trouble finding frames I liked but with the assistance and advice from the staff, I was able to pick frames that fit my face and look great. They tell you all the options for your glasses but don't push features you don't want. I highly recommend choosing them for your Eyecare needs.

Every time I have visited Gadsden Eye Associates, they courteous, friendly and super knowledgeable staff have taken the greatest of measures to inform me of our plans. Ample parking, clean facilities, little to no wait time between procedures. Always a pleasure to do business with these fine folks. Dr. Dabbs is always very patient in answering any questions I may have.

Doctor is good, check in reasonable, but I was kept waiting over 1 hour to be placed in room to see doctor after my eyes were dilated and initial tests by technician were done. It was very uncomfortable to wait in brightly lit waiting room with my eyes dilated. I got a major headache trying to keep myself occupied reading my phone in that condition.
