ITEC: Izer, James D. MD

I saw Dr. Izer for at least 15 years. He seemed to really care. His staff, however.. very rude and unprofessional. As I was waiting for my appointment, I heard them talk crap about every patient on the roster for the afternoon, including me. I confronted them about it and they said oh no, we were just calling you to come back. Once in the exam room, the nurse asked how I was. I told her I was great until I heard you and your staff talking crap about me. She admitted they were, but it wasn't her. I told Dr. Izer about the interaction and there was no indication that he cared how I felt. He didn't give any reassurance that he would talk to his staff about their misconduct. I haven't been back. The optical shoppe staff is great though.

Dr. Murphy needs an eye Dr himself. Know anybody? Anita needs a new job. She has a god-complex. She is fifty shades of rude. Hanging up on patients, speaking over them as if whatever she has to say was more important, acting as if she has final say in all bills coming and going whether they're justifiably so or not. I was unnecessarily charged after having been told multiple times I could have a tumor behind my eye and have diabetes. After being sent to the same specialist, twice (and reassured both times his diagnosis were incorrect) I come to realize the eye Dr needs to retire. I'm absolutely disgusted with the way they allow their office personnel to speak to patients. Since calling to fight this unnecessary bill, I have been told I will receive a letter firing me as a patient. Good riddance.

BEWARE!! VERY DECEPTIVE COMPANY!! I called Itec Montgomery to schedule an eye exam and asked to confirm if my insurance would be accepted. I was advised via phone that my insurance would be accepted for my visit. On the day of my scheduled appointment i presented my insurance card to the representative at the front desk. She made a copy of the card and advised my insurance would cover my visit. I was then advised i owed a balance of $175 after obtaining my eye exam and denied my prescription. The information provided to me was incorrect and misleading. Since this time i have obtained another eye exam and prescription from another provider who actually accepts my eye insurance. I contacted the billing department and received very poor customer service. I was denied the option of a payment arrangement and was told i needed to "pay my bills". I would like to bring awareness to the shady business practices of Itec Montgomery. Employees are extremely rude!!. This business needs to be shut down immediately!

Change apt then change again. Rude and no regard for patients. Plenty of other places to go! Now after all this and another week goes by I get a certified letter after canceling apt 3 times. Have asked to be off patient rolls and requested to stop contacting me. Owe no money... Harassment!

Do not go to Itec and see Dr. Murphy unless you want to be misdiagnosed, not once, not twice, but THREE times within 2 years. Unless you want to accumulate many more bills, to be sent to specialists- to be told TWICE that your eyes are fine. He needs to retire. If I wanted an exaggeration of the depletion of my vision I would have called Doc McStuffin. Don't waste your time, money, or energy in this place. Better yet, go buy a magic eight ball, shake it, and figure out your prescription from that; you have a better chance at getting a correct prescription and/or diagnosis. If you have to deal with Anita, consider that she takes everything personally and refuses to even consider that her BLESSSS-ED Dr. Murphy could be incorrect and that I received unnecessary charges.

5 Stars Every Time! Dr. Izer has been our ophthalmologist for many years so it was only natural that we used him for our children's eyes when they were born. Both girls were amblyopic with one of them having to have surgery when she was 18 months old. We wouldn't have trusted anyone else. Excellent staff, highly knowledgeable, very friendly and are never rushed.

I will never do business with this company again. I made an appointment and waited two weeks. The day before they called and confirmed. Upon arriving they had me fill out my paperwork, then came out and said the Doc had to leave and could not see me. They don't mind having me wait an hour to see the doc but do not have the curtosy to reschedule or tell me not to come. I Will Never Step Foot I'm This Business Again!!!!

The doctor is wonderful but his staff are the rudest group of people I've ever encountered at a medical practice.
