Just a quick not to say thank you! As usual, I waited till the last moment to call your office about contact refills. Thank you for taking care of my needs over the phone. I have been coming to your office for around 20 years. You and your office staff have always been great. Professional and friendly. I will continue to recommend your office to my friends and family.

Hands down the best eye doctor I have ever had. I've been a patient of his for the last 5 years and I have no complaints. Great service and I highly recommend!

I had to think about this a few days before I wrote it but it kept haunting me so I knew I had to do it. I came to Anchorage on business and my eye turned red, was not an emergency but needed to be addressed. I called the doctors office and made an appointment. I have insurance with United Health Care but when I arrived at the office I was told (which I was potentially aware of) nothing may be covered or possibly a sliding scale. So nothing was covered ... I asked the receptionist then how much out of pocket then I would have to pay and was told from 100 to 300 depending on service. So there I am sitting there in the waiting room as I told the brief surly receptionist I needed a moment think. 300 or even less would be a burden on me as I have a lot on my plate. I understand doctors need to make money. Another women came from a back room and she asked and whispered about my situation to Mrs Rude. I am not exactly sure what was said but no one addressed me so it was not positive for me. What is it I want you may ask, I will tell you ... A little doctors compassion, A little kindness from the receptionist, I was not dressed in my suit and my clothes were nice but I was unshaven and had a really rough day with everything and now this with my eye. It was just one of those days you know, I was judged I was a potentially new client. Then I am met with complete utter odius behavior, judged ... frowned upon and treated like I had walked off the street like an addict holding a wrinkled old cardboard sign that says "Anything Helps, God Bless" you know the guy you see him pretty much everyday. I could have afforded the money but it was just the matter of my eye, no compassion, my insurance said no, no compassion no nothing just NO just Whatever just beat it, I was new to town being judged which I expressed dearly to the receptionist so I just was lost and a little helpless, happens. My eye is better now, I went another route. When did the doctors stop caring, when did the receptionist and other office staff stop caring, when did people become so miserable in practicing medicine. I hope you are reading this Doctor Bancroft and I hope this sinks in a little, you failed. If you don't know what happened then shame on you for not being in touch with your staff, your staff does not care so now you know 100% and if they told you the situation then shame on you for not caring or contacting me or coming out real quick to say hey it looks real bad come on back or not would have taken what ... 5 seconds - cant do that all day but it does not happen all day. I know you need money and can't do work for free but you can easily see the breakdown I wrote above and I hope this review makes you better and someone out there will be taken care of - thats what you signed up for in medical school ... taking care of people. This is real review written by a real person who came encounter with your office. I guess you never know who walks through doors, but you should. There is my photo I am not a jerk, I am really cool nice person who likes good things in life especially people.

I would not recommend Mr.Bancroft to anyone with my expierences with him. He didnt get my prescription for glasses 3 times. He couldnt get my prescription correct until called my last optical doctor for my last script. He wanted to do what he thought was correct but I kept disagreeing with him cause with the scripts he was trying to give me. The first one made me dizzy and everything moved when I moved my head. Second pair were alot weaker so I couldnt even see anything. The third after he called my last doctor were better but were not up to par. I couldn't work with this person anymore so not good for recommendations.

I went here yesterday for the first time and it was great. All of the staff was friendly, nice and helpful. I did not wait long to see the doctor. I was able to find a pair of glasses I liked and order them there.
