Update-would give zero stars if I could. Lab lost our frames, frames we own. Only found bc tracking number was given. Said "will be expedited." Looking at other reviews, seems lab has changed. I guess it is time to shop around. I've been coming here for years off and on since I've moved with the military but has something changed with the lab? Glasses guaranteed to us on several different dates, however now they cannot offer an update because they cannot get ahold of the lab. It's not even a new pair of glasses, just lenses. It should not take 4+ weeks. Not to mention cost of eyewear has gone up but style options have gone down.

Rumor has it this place was sold--and unfortunately, the change has not been for the better. We've been coming here for nearly 10 years and have never experienced the issues we're dealing with this year. We were even warned by two separate friends. They also mishandled my brother-in-law's appointment so badly that he ultimately canceled and went elsewhere. I understand that many businesses are understaffed, but this situation goes far beyond that. Voicemails are left with no return calls, and we've had to physically drive to the office three separate times just to speak with someone who is actually there. Calling the office routes you to an outsourced customer service line that repeatedly says, "We need to schedule an appointment." No one has time to schedule an appointment for every small request--such as ordering a sample contact lens or reverting a prescription back to the previous strength, which the doctor explicitly said he would do if the new prescription wasn't strong enough and to just call.. To make matters worse, the sample contact lens was ordered in the wrong strength, and no one even called when it arrived. We were later told it had been sitting there for three days. My husband was informed that the office now relies on an "automatic system" to notify patients when items arrive--they simply tell the computer the item has arrived. Relying solely on an automated system to contact patients is concerning. When we went in person, a young employee at the front desk told another coworker the contacts hadn't arrived and didn't attempt to help when he asked for assistance. He eventually located them himself--but only after we called and spoke with someone in billing, who was able to look it up and confirm they had been there since 1/13. This call took place on 1/16. I don't like that it's nearly impossible to speak with someone physically working in the office, and this entire experience has been extremely frustrating. Unfortunately, we will be taking our business elsewhere next year. These issues have been ongoing since our appointments on 1/5.

They canceled my son's appointment again today. This is the second time they have done that. Last month we had two appointments, and they canceled my sons. But I was still able to be seen. Today, I show up and they informed me son's appointment is canceled. Understand this, they text me on a regular basis to notify me of my four family members needing an appointment every year. So why didn't they call, text, or something? I guess I need to look for another office for our family

Been a very happy customer at DVC for 25 years, not perfect but always fixed things. They sold off and got a new lens manufacturer that is tanking the practice. Had to redo scrip. UPDATE: Redo lens was flawed and now scheduled to go back again, initial appointment was 3.5 months ago. After ins, paid $600 out of pocket and still no glasses that work. Always plan on one hour wait for all transactions.

Their optometrists are great, their labs for lenses are top of the line, they inform you of what your insurance doesn't cover before performing care or tests. I've been going here for years. But when my financial situation changed and I could no longer afford $900 glasses, I had to leave without ordering glasses on the day of my last eye exam. It seemed like the selection they carry is only designer brand frames and other high end brands, which was defeating for me. I had to go somewhere that offers cheaper frames. Not only that, but it kind of seems like the frames they carry can vary based on trends. This year when I went in, I couldn't find very many cat eye or brow line frames (before I found out they were too expensive anyway). I wish they would care at least a selection of affordable frames, but it doesn't appear that they do.

In the past long wait when get there, over half an hour easily. This time late by 3 mins (over the 10 min grace period) and the provider refused to see me. Their service has always been average at best.

I'll start by saying I've been coming here 20 years and in the last 1-2 years they have absolutely fell apart. Worst customer service ever. You will always get an answering service that can't tell you anything and can only schedule an appointment. The office won't call you back and when you go in finally to address the issue they'll make you feel like it's your fault. Bummer that this business just went down the drain. I absolutely would not recommend.

I became a patient of Dr. Dobson quite a few years ago and from then until now -- the service and attention to detail has been excellent! Truly one of the optometrist in Anchorage!!
