Prism Optical

The address I had was definitely the wrong one. It was the address I found on Google. I called repeatedly to get the address verified before I left for my appointment, I later found out they were pretty busy and couldn't get to the phone. Too busy. I could understand that with a small 1-man business. Shockingly, Google doesn't know where they are! They called back the next day with an offer for an appointment a month and a half down the road after they saw my original review. A month and a half down the road!!! Their email didn't give the right address (the same one Google had), and they never answered the phone nor called back that day. They should've had the address updated in their emails and on Google, and at the very least...a forwarding address located at the place on tudor and informed the building security at the very least! Complete lack of communication. Period. From a "super store".

Excellent experience. Went back the next day and got fitted for some sunglasses. Finally came over from the dark side to get with the times thank you Prism Optical.

I've never had an eye exam that didn't check my close up vision as well as far away. I feel the exam was incomplete cause the appointment was clearly at the end of the day. I love their selection but not impressed with the doctor. Glasses came in quick.

Was a fast and great experience. After paperwork we were able to look at a huge selection of medicaid glasses (300+), then into the room with Doc for very thorough exam. Employees and Doctor were friendly and courteous from start to finish! Great experience, would definitely recommend!

The new customer representative made it right!! I previously had posted a bad review, and the company manager informed me that they had made some changes with customer service support and the new representative contacted me immediately. She contacted me and my friend who is incarcerated, she made all the correct changes to his glasses and even compensated him for his troubles. The new customer representative for inmates goes beyond to help. I would highly recommend them now that they have a new customer service representative for inmates.

September 2023 Location: King Salmon, Alaska I most definitely continue to recommend Prism Optical for your entire family's eye care needs. One stop shopping at it's finest, available online AND in-person visits to most rural areas of Alaska!!!!!! We sadly missed our appointments. We didn't have the address. We called but no answer just a recording on all lines. We must have gone to the wrong hotel. WE went to gateway and they didnt know where you were. We did have the orange postcard but there was no address on it of where to go and we just had no luck locating anyone who would answer a phone or a text. Then we texted and asked if we could reschedule but no response. Recommend putting address on post card of where location is or in your text confirmations or have someone answering phones during appointment hours. We hope they can reschedule us. No response yet to our texts. Hello again, to answer your questions: The appointment was a remote appointment in Seward. The Google Maps that you sent asking why we didn't use it was for Anchorage, which is 125 miles away. Since you were only visiting Seward for the day and don't have an office here, it is not a solution to use Google Maps to find your Seward location. A better solution would be to include the address on the Orange Postcard, on your texts when you send them, reconfirming an appointment, or on your voicemail when you know you will be visiting our town. Also I would like to clarify for any readers, that the 1 star review we left was not intended at all to make the reader assume tat Prism Optical of Alaska is not a good place to go. On the contrary we would not have made an appointment with them if we thought they were not an excellent choice. The reason for the one star review is because there was no way to locate them once we got in the car and realized we had no address. There was nobody answering the phones, nothing on the postcard which indicated the address they would be at for one day in Seward, and no way to get that kind of help on a voicemail or text. It is for those reasons ONLY that a one star review was given and that is simply because those things are all easily fixable and would add greatly to communications. I hope all readers will still choose Prism Optical of Alaska. I don't mean to imply they are not an excellent choice. This is constructive criticism in relationship to what went wrong for us that could have gone better. And we take full responsiblity now that we missed our appointments that this was indeed our own fault. We should have written the address down before we got in the car but we just forgot. Still, a huge safety net would be to have it on the texts confirming the appointments, to have it on the voicemail even if they are too busy to answer the phone and to include it on the Postcard because it is a no win situation for them and for us when this kind of thing occurs.

I have a loved one who is in prison who just purchased 2 new pair of eyeglasses through Prism Optical. Due to the communication and information barriers created by incarceration, I made contact with the company to help get answers for him regarding the ordering process and also made contact to check on the progress of the order. We were both absolutely blown away by the exceptional customer service and prompt responses each time I reached out with questions.
