Dr Augusta Plassman King

I was very pleased with the experience I had with Dr. King. She was very easy to talk to, informative and had up to date equipment that I have never been tested with before. Her staff was professional and even looked up my insurance information prior to my arrival, even though I was unable to provide them with my insurance carrier, ID number and group number. Dr. King diagnosed me with a condition that I was unaware I had and was able to provide me with an explanation as to why I have such a sensitivity to light (in the 20 years that I have been regularly having eye exams, no other physician was able to do this). I trust Dr. King and I will gladly be going back to see her in the future.

Dr. King is very calm and very soothing. She has this calm personality and is very professional and truly cares about you instead of rushing to the next patient to make as much money as possible like a lot of other optometrists I've gone too have done. I didn't wait much and even went back to adjust prescription and she took care of me super quick! I'm very appreciative of her and her office when I no called and thought the appointment was at another time and they quickly rescheduled me. Great team

I was very pleased with Dr King herself. She was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. First time in 20 years of wearing contacts I actually had a doctor explain what they're looking for with the lens fitting. Bonus - the office has one of the awesome machines that takes pictures in your eye so you don't have to get your eyes dilated. Big advantage when I'm having to drive 2 hours back to home! Lost one star for front office management. I was on time to my appointment and saw no one for a good 10-15 min. I'm assuming they were helping another patient or something since the front desk also does the basic eye tests and in-processing but it would have been nice for someone to poke their head out and acknowledge they'd be with me in a minute.

My dog gave me an eye full of her toenails last month. I could tell something was very wrong. My wife called Dr. King's office and two others after hours and left messages with each of them. She's the only one who returned my call. She was willing to come in and open her office for us. She examined my eye and discovered that the front of my eye was actually torn! She ended up putting some kind of membrane on my eye (stem cells?) and a contact lens to hold it in place while it healed. It immediately felt a lot better. I came back several days later and She took out the contact lens and I WAS HEALED. My vision had returned to normal. THANK YOU DOCTOR KING!

I go to Dr. King because I saw she was the #1 eye doctor in Fairbanks two years in a row according to the News Miner Readers' Choice Awards. I've been to Doctor King a dozen times for routine and urgent eye care. She's great. Her office seems to have all of the latest technology. I rarely have to wait past my scheduled appointment time, and I'm in and out quickly. Dr. King once found a problem with my retina and referred me to a local eye surgeon who took care of it.

This is the most unprofessional office i have seen. Not only did they cancel my appt on me and say that i called in to cancel. (I didn't. The only phone call i made was the day i made the appt) but when i rescheduled, i took off work, only to get there and have them say i had to pay out of pocket instead of using my insurance because DEERS was down. No warning, no call saying "be prepared" nothing. My whole family will be going with literally any other provider. Edit: got a reply from dr. I guess i shouldnt be surprised to see she LIED to try to save face on google. My insurance information was given in AUGUST (this is now near november) when i set up my first appt... that she canceled without warning only to blame me for the cancelation.

Dr. King was very friendly and knowledgeable. All the optical equipment is very modern and state of the art as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my appointment.

Best exam ever. Answers all your questions, no dilation of eyes,the office takes photos of your eyes and explains what is in the pictures. Great with children,
