Deer Eye Clinic

I've been a patient of Dr Deer's for about 15 years and have always been very happy with him and the staff. But, this year when I called to schedule my annual appointment I was told they quit taking my insurance (BCBS/Superior). So now I have to find a new eye doctor. Thanks a lot...........

I have been seeing Dr. Deer for a few years now and highly recommend him to anyone who asks for a good eye physician. Everyone on staff is friendly and helpful and Dr. Deer is very kind and compassionate. They do their very best to accommodate me and my power chair due to my physical disabilities, making me feel very comfortable not just physically but also emotionally. They also saw my younger son on an emergency basis and given his autism, it could have been a harrowing ordeal but instead they soothed him and took care of the problem quickly. This is the best place to bring everyone in the family, from the smallest of children to the elderly.

Dr. Deer is one of the best eye doctors in the area. He is highly knowledgeable and always takes the time to listen and explain. I never feel rushed in his office. His office staff is top-notch, with genuine old fashion customer service. I am so thankful that a friend introduced me to Dr. Deer and his clinic.

Had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Deer. in April 2019 ; excellent result. Had seen Dr. Deer about a year earlier and didn't need surgery at that time.but my vision in my left eye had changed and called for my newest appointment and Dr. Deer agreed that my vision in the left eye had gotten worse by my ripened cataract, hence the surgery shortly later. Dr. Deer was a thoroughly competent and compassionate M.D. and so were his staff. Recommended Dr. Deer to my wife ; she also needed cataract surgery and again , great results and compassion by Dr. Deer & his staff. My primary care M.D. is Dr. Michael Ford , St. Vincent Health CHI, Little Rock and he recommended Dr. Deer to me and other specialists as needed and they were all great choices; thank you Dr. Ford !

Front staff was very rude- didn't get the woman's name wish I would have! Was telling me and my child that she couldn't move because SHE would have to do inconveniently disinfect it. I should've left that moment! On top of that it took the doctor over an HOUR to come into our room!!!!!! Why would you ever schedule a 3 y/o appointment and then make her wait an hour and expect her to act right? Ridiculous Safe to say we will not be returning.

Went for my appointment today and "Lisa" is very rude and loud everytime I go. While sitting in the waiting area I can hear her conversation on the phone about what kind of insurance people have and what the insurance won't and will pay for. If the patient doesn't get what she is saying or if the patient keep asking questions, once she hang up she will complain to other workers about the call. Everything else at the office is great but I still will be finding another eye doctor.

Called and cancelled my eye exam appointment the day of (due to being called into work). Was told I would be charged a $30 cancellation fee, understandable(some places do that). Was also told someone would call back that afternoon to reschedule. Its been a week and no one contacted me. Called this morning to try to reschedule was told I could either reschedule for two months out with no $30 cancellation fee or if I wanted to come in sooner, I would have to pay the $30. Do not have that kind of time to worry about a simple eye exam. Will be going somewhere else. I do NOT recommend.
