Kawata Optometry

Dr. Kawata is an outstanding optometrist. He explained everything thoroughly and thoughtfully answered questions and offered helpful advice. I was between prescriptions and he recommended I kept my current lenses rather than trying to upsell a new pair of glasses. The only minor issue I had is that devices that handle medical data should probably not run Windows XP since it hasn't received security updates for 10+ years.

I've been seeing Dr. Kawata since I was in the 3rd grade, and all these years later, I can honestly say he's one of the kindest, most supportive, and genuinely caring doctors I've ever met. His staff is so welcoming and has been with him for years, which says so much about the positive and supportive environment they've built together. You're greeted like family every time you walk in. Dr. Kawata's expertise and warmth make every appointment a great experience, and his selection of stylish, on-trend frames means you always leave looking your best. I truly hope he never retires, he's irreplaceable!

Tried to book an appointment, but the receptionist wouldn't book the appointment because she insisted that my insurance couldn't be the insurance I was telling her. I called again to verify and gave her my ID number and because it didn't pop up in her system, she insisted that wasn't a valid insurance. Instead of verifying with my insurance carrier, she said the only way she could book an appointment would be as a cash patient and I wouldn't be able to change it even after I presented my insurance card to them. I called my insurance carrier and they said all she had to do was call and confirm (every other Dr.'s office does it). If she's too lazy to call and confirm insurance coverage, what other tasks is she too lazy to perform? Horrible way to attract new patients and makes it hard to trust this office with that kind of service.

Best Doctor and office staff everyone is kind and friendly. Office is very clean. I've been going there for many years along with family members. Highly recommend
