Hamilton Eye Institute (Rex Hamilton, MD)

If you are considering eye surgery I implore you to read this. I have had 3 eye surgeries in the past 2 years due to having a genetic condition called Fuchs. I had both cataracts replaced and corneas transplanted. The right eye came out perfectly but the left eye had double vision. There was no explanation nor straightforward treatment. Thankfully my surgeon was a student's of Dr Hamilton's and he insisted I make the 2 hour drive to see him. Best decision I ever made. The complexity of my Contoura PRK did not became apparent to me until the day of the surgery. Upon my arrival the surgery center knew who I was because the manufacturer had to have 2 technicians specially calibrate the machine for my PRK and I found out later Dr Hamilton had held multiple forums regarding my surgery. The amazing thing about this was I was never aware of the complexities or charged a premium. The results are absolutely far better than I could Hope for and I can not say with enough conviction that this Dr and Staff saved my vision. I recommend them with absolute confidence.

Dr Hamilton is in my opinion the best surgeon in Los Angeles California very kind person and professional he really explained everything to me about my condition and the procedure and trust me I searched a lot before I made my decision. I seen different doctors even tried to get lasik before chosing RLE which I was not convinced any way he gave me the confidence and trust to feel comfortable to pick him as my surgeon. I totally recommend him 100% to anyone ,he really changed my life thank you so much Dr Hamilton now I can play with my daughters and not depend of glasses for the rest of my life by the way I'm 45 years old

I did a few months of research before choosing Dr. Hamilton based on his experience and the experiences of others I found on reddit. I came in dead set on SMILE (Dr. H is definitely the most experienced on this procedure on the west coast, possibly the country) but he helped me see (no pun intended) why I wasn't a great candidate due to my low prescription. We talked about my concerns with LASIK due to my already dry eyes and he was very helpful in helping alleviate them. We quickly scheduled the procedure for the following week and when the day came Dr. H and his staff helped prepare me for what was going to happen, and then made the procedure seamless with step by step narration of what was going to happen, what they were doing, and what they expected from me. All in all, I'm extremely happy with the results. Just 4 days later and I now have 20/15 vision (better than my glasses!) and no dry eye symptoms whatsoever. Couldn't have asked for anything more, and glad I decided to trust my vision to Doctor Hamilton!

What a great, highly trained doctor, Rex Hamilton. I had surgery with the Odyssey IOL one year ago. Right after the first eye surgery, my world became so bright, one eye at a time. I noticed leaf veins on trees. After windy days, I thought there were many tiny branches on the street, but they were actually withered, yellow flowers from the trees. Oh my goodness, I had missed so many things I couldn't see well. I have been wearing contact lenses for over 30 years, and for the last 10 years, multifocal lenses. No more. What a bright world. I should have met the super Dr. Rex Hamilton much earlier. I highly recommend Dr. Rex Hamilton for the Odyssey IOL. Finally, I have mentioned his staff: Everyone is warm, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. One year has passed, and I have one problem: I can see my wrinkles so clearly.

I had a fantastic experience with Dr Hamilton and his staff. I walked in with terrible vision and astigmatism and today I have excellent sight and none of those double vision issues. And I don't need contacts or glasses at all. The whole EVO ICL process was easy, painless, and effortless. They answered every question and explained all my options. I feel lucky to have found them!

Dr. Hamilton is a superstar eye surgeon. He's collaborative, explains things well and really looks out for your best interests. He is a terrific surgeon. I feel grateful to have him as my ophthalmologist. He is definitely the best ophthalmologist I have ever had and one of the top physicians I have had for medical care. I would highly recommend him for anyone who needs an eye surgeon/ ophthalmologist. I was extremely happy with the outcome of the surgery he did and the overall care post- surgery care I wish there was a rating beyond five stars.
