Dr Cornell is knowledgeable, professional and intelligent. While wait time is long, Dr Cornell sees many patients and exam process is time consuming. Dr Cornell is worth the wait. He provides in-depth information and thorough exam to his patients. I need cataract surgery and he has explained all positive reasons to get this surgery. . As evidence of Dr Cornell's ethical transparency, he does inform patients of potential risks involved in cataract surgery even though those risks are low statistically. While I have significant apprehension about eye surgery, I would put my faith in Dr Cornell's talent, expertise and dedication as a surgeon. Regret not agreeing to surgery a decade ago when Dr Cornell first made suggestion in terms of how much it would improve my vision. Must do soon as cataracts getting worse. I have great respect and high regard for Dr. Peter Cornell's expertise and talent.
Ordinarily, I would have given this a much better rating. I've been a patient at Beverly Hills Eye Associates and Dr. Peter Cornell for well over five years. Dr. Cornell did my cataract surgery and did a wonderful job a few years ago. I've started having some eye problems, including floaters in my left eye and stabbing pains occasionally. I called to make an appointment and said I would only be in town for the month of March. The girl at the desk told me there would be nothing until April. I explained I was only in town for this month and then I would be gone for a few months and I really needed to see him while I was here. I asked her if she would check with him to see if he could fit me in. I never heard back from her. Then I called again and asked to speak to the manager. He was on a lunch break so they took my name and number and said he would call me afterwards. Never heard from him either. I'm so completely frustrated by this I was moved to write this review. I hope they see it and I hope Dr. Cornell realizes how his office is being run. One of the other problems is when you go there to see him sometimes you have to wait for hours. I was willing to go through that, but not anymore. He's been my doctor for years, did my surgery, now I'm having problems with my eyes and I don't know what to do about it since I can't get through to them.
P.S. Fortunately, it now has a happy ending. I called back again and got Louis on the phone, the office manager, who couldn't have been more helpful. He got me an appointment to see Dr. Cornell and I will see him next week. I am so very grateful to Louis. I'm going to put the previous experience down to incompetency on someone's part. It's a wonderful office that just needs to be run a little more efficiency and particularly on time..
Five stars aren't anywhere near enough.
I have had the very good fortune and privilege to have my eyes looked after by Peter Cornell for over 20 years now, ever since we moved to Los Angeles.
I cannot recommend Dr Cornell highly enough.
(He was recommended by the other highly-renowned ophthalmologist who had looked after me in New York for many years and first operated on me when I was about 5 years old).
Dr Cornell, a world class ophthalmic surgeon and his team have been nothing but exquisitely professional for all those years.
About a year ago, yes in the middle of covid, my vision started getting rapidly worse: we had long been monitoring my regular cataracts but it turns out a second, uncommon fast-growing type also appeared frighteningly quickly. I could barely see through one eye and the other was also starting to go. It was an incredibly scary time.
Demand on medical professionals has been off the charts during covid and yet, as he was for all the many years before, Peter was calm, attentive and immensely reassuring. He took time, listened carefully, explained all the options. You never felt rushed.
On one occasion, there was a medical emergency he had to attend to, the waiting time was admittedly long, he apologized so much, all that I could answer was that he was well worth the wait. Let's face it, when you go to a fast food restaurant, the service is quick but the quality isn't close to a restaurant where the chef needs some time to prepare a good meal. I like fast food too, but these are my only two eyes.. They are easily worth a bit of patience.
Surgeries with Dr Cornell were scheduled and, in the time leading up to those surgeries, somewhere approaching a dozen of my friends (who didn't know I was a patient of Dr Cornell) told me I needed to go see Dr Cornell, that he was the best person for the surgery.
Until my surgeries, I had worn distance glasses since I was a kid and, after about 40, reading glasses. Now, I see perfectly from about 2 feet away to infinity and only need very weak reading glasses.
Today I had my six month post operative follow up and all is great. It was Thanksgiving a few days ago. I am so grateful for Dr Cornell.
COULD. NOT. BE. HAPPIER.
Dr. Cornell's office is amazing. From the front desk to the optical department, everyone is great at what they do. Tim, the office manager was very helpful and well educated on all the questions I had. Dr. Cornell is of course the best ophthalmologist. I was a little worried for someone to touch my eyes but Dr. Cornell made me feel so relaxed that I had no issue to get my exam done.
The optical department was great as well. Very competent. They can tell you what shape of glasses fit you the best. They also advise on what will work better for you (they will not sell a frame that will not be adapted to your prescription). I will recommend this office to anyone who wants to have the best eye care.
Thank you so much for this amazing experience.
Dr. Cornell and his team at Beverly Hills Eye Associates delivers high level eye care. During my visit I was met at the door and had my temperature taken, asked to wash my hands, and a serious of questions regarding COVID 19 symptoms and if I been exposed. Immediately after I was walked to my private room that was clean and sanitized, staff advised me they recently received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Knowing that this team had the vaccine made me feel at ease. I have been to other doctors during the pandemic and Dr. Cornell's team has raised the bar, the amount of cleanliness is unbelievable. They also have the latest and greatest equipment I have ever seen. I feel very safe from COVID-19 and know that I'm getting the most technical attention to my eyes. I highly recommend Dr. Cornell and his medical team. I do want to give a special thanks to Kimiko who scheduled my appointment; every protocol she mentioned on the phone was exactly what I experienced at the office, Dr Bhambhani and Noami helped test me for dry eyes and performed a procedure called LIPIFLOW 3 days now since the procedure my eyes feel so GOOD. If you're looking for great patient care and the latest technology for your eyes schedule an appointment here
Dr Cornell and his office are amazing. I've never had such a comprehensive exam and was blown away by the professionalism of the staff and cutting edge technologies (read: no air-puff test in your eyes!). Dr Cornell was easy to talk with, honest, and understanding of my wants.
I came to Dr Cornell because I was interested in Lasik eye surgery and wanted to know if I was a good candidate. Because of my dry eyes (I have very dry eyes, was a student, and have a desk job) my surgery was risker than most, but he calmly told me about the risks and concerns, and ultimately decided to move forward with the surgery.
Best decision ever.
I walked into the surgery center with 50/20 vision and walked out a couple hours later with 15/20 (we checked the next day when my eyes healed more). Dr Cornell was professional, knowledgable, and calmed my nerves. Many of my family members have started going to Dr Cornell's office for all our vision needs (from the latest contact technology to cataract surgery) and we are so much better for his help.
Working with Dr Cornell and his team was the best decision I could have made, and I highly recommend him to anyone considering Lasik or any other vision need.
It is a shame Dr.Cornell has few reviews, especially from some stupid people who gave him less then 5 stars. I have a thriving plastic surgery practice snd have been in practice for close to 50 years I have my own surgery center called Boriscosmetic. Today I had cataract surgery by Dr.Cornell. He deserves 20 stars. I did my research. Also I had consultations with other doctors. He is by far the best in the business. I would not trust my eyes to anyone one else in LA . I know medicine and how to choose a doctor, since I am one, with 50 years experience. My surgery today went perfect. His office, the surgical center perfect. He is in my opinion the best. He deserves much more than 9 reviews and all of them should be 5 stars
Dr Cornell is the best decision I have made for my eye care. The cataract surgery was successful and the office staff made it so smooth. Dr Cornell is truly an amazing dr. Can't recommended him higher
