We would like to emphasize that we greatly appreciate Dr. Bronge, who is professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about his patients. Our low rating is not a reflection of his care, but rather of the front desk experience. It has been extremely difficult to reach the office by phone or text during business hours. During the transition from the John Muir facility to the current location, we attempted for nearly three months to contact the office without success--calls and messages went unanswered. At that point, we began looking for a new optometrist for our family, until we were finally able to reach someone after repeated attempts. Unfortunately, these communication issues have continued at the new location. The office remains largely unreachable by phone or text during office hours. In addition, we have experienced unprofessional interactions with a staff member named Melissa. Specifically: Our insurance benefits for eyewear were overlooked until we pointed them out, despite having previously received these benefits when assisted by another staff member. After three days of unsuccessful attempts to contact the office, we had to visit in person. During that visit, Melissa abruptly interrupted us and stated, "Okay, we are short-handed, nothing we can do. What do you need?" When we expressed concern that we may need to switch providers due to the ongoing lack of communication, her response was, "You have to do what you have to," which came across as dismissive and uncaring. By contrast, a different staff member who assisted us several months ago (name unknown) was professional, patient, and customer-oriented. She took the time to clearly explain our insurance benefits and provided guidance on communication options. While the communication challenges persisted, her attitude and willingness to help made a significant difference. Ultimately, while staffing shortages may explain delays, the core issue is the lack of responsiveness and, at times, unprofessional attitudes at the front desk. We hope these concerns are addressed, as Dr. Bronge's quality of care deserves a front office experience that reflects the same level of professionalism.

The experience and service I received from Matthew Bronge was the worse I have ever had from any Optometrist. He didn't get my prescription right and when I went back for a reexamination ( which my insurance said to do) he was offended when I told him the prescription was wrong. I was not given a complete exam and he also charged me eventhough he had already been paid by my Insurance Company. He should have corrected his mistake without charging me. I am filing a complaint with my Insurance Company and the BBB. Do not waste your time or money on this Optometrist. He does not stand behind his service.

Real friendly staff

Dr Bronge was very professional and informative in regards to my health of my eyes. Dr. Bronge took his time to go over my records and explain everything without me feeling rushed . His staff was very helpful and friendly and answered any questions I had. They all were also very honest when helping pick out frames that looked nice but also affordable . I would highly recommend Dr. Bronge and his team .
