The front desk service and staff that help you try on glasses are very kind and welcoming. They take time to explain all of the paperwork to you. The doctor himself is pretty quiet and is pretty much just focused on the processes of the exam, but as someone that's busy, I really appreciated that we got the appointment over with quickly

I was a little nervous about shopping for glasses without insurance since it can be such a big expense, but I had a wonderful experience here. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made sure I got glasses that fit my needs perfectly.

This was my first time ever getting my eyes examined for glasses. Front desk lady was great/friendly and gentlemen that helped me pick my frames was cool. But the doctor who helped me that day wasn't pleasant. He had no energy introducing himself to me so I had a feeling it was going to be a bad experience. During the exam where they ask which lenses is more clear, I asked to for clarification "how clear am I supposed to be able to see the letters?" but his response was not helpful so all the other questions I wanted to ask just went out the window. So I did my eye exam as fast as possible to leave because it felt like I wasn't going get the help that I thought I was going to get. Maybe he was having a bad day who knows.

Absolutely reccomend!! I cannot say enough positive things about all the the staff at this business! They are skilled, down to earth, warm and reassuring every visit. Obie is fantastic with my son who has had prescription glasses since age 4 (hes 8 now). We won't go anywhere else. Thank you for always taking good care of us

Be careful when you go to this Optometry and get everything in writing because I had services done with no insurance and paid cash without a problem but a month later they surprised me with an extra charge saying that they made a mistake so now I have to pay more and when I confronted Olivia the person who answered the phone she said they couldn't help me even when I remember her that the doctor gave her instructions in front of me of the amount to charge for the services . Hopefully they can find good use for my money because it would be the last they will get from me.

I took my 3-year-old in today for his first official eye exam after an abnormal exam result from his pediatrician. The front desk staff was lovely. Very warm and welcoming and kind, which is the reason for the second star. The optometrist, at least I think that is who he was as he never introduced himself, led us back to the dark room with many of the typical eye exam machines. Mind you, my son has never seen any of this, and has no idea what's going on, even though I did my best to explain ahead of time what was going to happen. The doctor never addressed either of my sons, just told me to put him on my lap and place his head against the machine. My son was extremely resistant to the entire exam which makes sense given his age and inexperience and this type of situation. He was very scared and confused. I did my best to get him to cooperate, and the doctor was absolutely no help. He just kept snapping orders at my son and did nothing to ease his anxiety or make it fun or explain anything. He seemed bored, irritated, very cold and almost resentful that he had to endure the behavior of a three-year-old. Maybe we caught him on a bad day. I understand how difficult children can be to work with (my son is no exception) and some days you may just not be in the mood. But that is his job. I felt helpless and angry at the end and not at all confident that the doctor was able to get much information, because the exam was such a disaster. He did come away with a diagnosis of moderate farsightedness and will most likely end up in glasses at some point. I'm tempted to get a second opinion because I have absolutely no idea how he obtained enough information to come to that conclusion . I will not be returning to this facility, and will be informing our pediatrician about our experience. I would rather drive to Sacramento if need be.

Excellent customer service, great experience! I was a little wary of this place after reading the reviews, but in my opinion they have the best selection of frames in town, and I found a pair I loved, so I decided to take my chances. When I got my glasses back from the lab after about a week, I tried them on and immediately knew the prescription wasn't right. I went back to my eye doctor (at another office in town) and he wrote a new Rx. Long story short, I had to have them made four different times with four different prescriptions before we FINALLY got them right. Let me be clear: this was never the fault of the staff at Chico Vision Care or their lab. On the contrary, Chelsea and Pablo went out of their way (including staying for 45 minutes after closing one day) to help me figure out what was wrong with my prescription and to make it right. I never paid a penny extra for all the times I had my prescription remade, and the lab always made the lenses exactly right. One of their doctors even agreed to see me free of charge to recheck my Rx. The staff never made me feel like any of it was my fault and genuinely seemed intent on helping me find the right prescription. Best customer service ever! I will be coming back!
