Stabel Eye Clinic

I should have listened to the other reviews that say the similar things about this Dr...Dr Stabel could care less about his patients. And I don't think he's very capable. I had to literally chase him down in the hallway at his practice during my appointment when he abruptly decided the visit was over, and didn't want to answer any more of my very justified questions concerning the topics of diagnosis and about simply prescribing steroids to alleviate symptoms. Don't go here if you're interested in getting actual help or diagnostics for problems with your eyes, I think he's only concerned about slinging eye prescriptions. There are FAR better and more capable choices. 2 stars are because the staff at his clinic was kind and seemed decent enough at their jobs.

Today's weather is very hot. I received a call from them yesterday telling me that my husband has an appointment tomorrow at 2:45 pm. This afternoon my husband and I arrived here 10 minutes late. They asked us for some personal information and checked it on the computer, but told us that there was no appointment for us. We were all surprised! We repeatedly emphasized that we received a notification call so we came to this place today. But they just emphasized that no one called us. Well! I drove my husband home (my husband has Alzheimer's disease). After I sent my husband home, I found the pink note from yesterday. It had the time and place written on it. Then I went to them again under the scorching sun, but they still didn't admit it. Finally told me that it might be the same name as my husband. Ridiculous. Then how to explain the phone number? Please tell me! In the end, no one apologized to us! I am not good at English, but I am not stupid! Are you discriminating against us? Please understand me. I use a translator!

They are able to see you quickly, but are of no help on advise on what to do for 1st time glasses. I asked if it would be more cost effective to get distance which is covered by insurance then grab some readers to try from local store they continued to sell me on their readers, never having glasses before I did not know. After running to dollar store was able to see they wouldn't be wise use of insurance covered pair, asked to switch to distance they could not cancel. So for next two years I am stuck with readers only which I could've bought at store for a dollar and must pay for second pair. Lesson learned but I know they knew this and could have been more helpful when I asked and told them of my ignorance. No empathy, only interested in selling glasses. Also eye doctor was very negative about aging and need for glasses claiming definitely that I would lose more and more up close vision until I had none left simply because of aging. Why that's a possibility it's not a guaranteed fact. And he could have said most but he insisted all which just showed his ignorance about human conditions. There is almost no guarantee that all humans will share the same experience in medical conditions and outcomes. I feel sorry for people that have never seen miracles or exceptions but I have seen too many to claim someone's future as fact. Fact my vision needs correction currently, not fact I will guarantee be blind by age 100.

Went for my grandma's check up after eye surgery and we were in and out. Dr. Was very good. Made sure my grandma's eyes were feeling well. The staff was alright. The girl who took us in didn't speak Spanish so when she had my grandma read the letters she just kept saying ok next and didn't even know if my grandma was saying them correctly. So her Vision could of been wrong from what she wrote down.

Thank you and God bless Stable eye clinic for working me in last minute today when Rapid Care couldn't see me due to not having eye specialists. I really appreciate this doctor and his staff.

Gotta love Dr. Stabel...he is very thorough and open minded to having a discussion about something. The staff is also helpful and nice. He is helping me with a tear duct issue.

Horrible staff, very unfriendly place. I can't understand why they treat the people the way they do. Very cold and unwelcoming atmosphere. A lot of there patients are elderly and I watched them be so rude to these people. I'll drive to Sacramento for better service.

Overbooks clients. Appointments not adhered to. Wait times ridiculous for two minutes with a doctor. Has not respect for patients time. Treated like cattle. Needs a new office manager or something.
