I thought it was odd that an optometry practice next to 99 Ranch that has been around for 30 years would have so few reviews and would have so many negative reviews. I'd recommend checking them out. Both doctors speak native English and were educated in the US.
I had my 5-year old daughter do an eye exam here. Dr. Shum was very patient and great with kids. He and the receptionist were both also very patient with my many questions about the different myopia prevention options. What I appreciated the most was honesty and transparency. I originally wanted to move forward with a treatment option, but after an exam, he recommended to continue to monitor. Instead of selling a service that I was pretty sure I wanted to do, he did what he felt was right for my daughter (not was was good for business), and recommended to check at the next exam. Pricing was transparent and pros/cons of different treatment options was also clear. I'll be switching the entire family over.

Service is really slow. Be prepared to wait for 20 minutes even with an appointment. Do not try walk in, it will be forever wait (unless the store is empty I guess).
On the other hand, the stuff there seemed very nice and he recommended cheap pairs of glasses to me that are within the cap of my insurance.
Their price is a little higher than the cheaper e-stores you can find online, e.g. 5% more on contact lenses.
I come to this store because it's closer to where I live.

I have been going to this place since I moved to the South Bay 7 years ago. The lady working the front is very accommodating and patient with me and my family each time we are there. The service is relatively slow as there is only one person working the floor most of the days, but she's very accommodating and patient.

1. always place a desk at gate? no respect for customers.
2. glasses nose pads is broken after four or five months, I went to the sore, they told me I will pay extra fee for the replacement next time????........all the time, it's free to replace the node pads from other stores, event I didn't buy any products from other stores.

Don't go to this place, they are very slow and do not responsible, if you get your glasses and leave, you won't have a chance to ask for a fix if your glasses has any issue even the damage is their fault. I really think we customer should pay more attention and make use of the reviews from public website like Google Map or Yelp. We may not want to spend time to write many good words for a good service but customers will be very likely to write more about the bad experience they have, at least for me, I will definitely use yelp or other trustful public organizations review system to decide whether to go to some places.

PUT IT SIMPLE: DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!
The attitude is rude, service is unprofessional, slow and unresponsive.
They will keep delay your order, or even break you glass with unprofessional handling. They don't really care about customer but just money.

Rude, unprofessional and costly
1. The doctor checked the eye and told that the power has increased, so we ordered new glasses, but the power was not required and started giving headache so I returned and ordered again with the original power.
2. The staff keep speaking in chinese amongst themselves, which is very rude for non-chinese audience like me.
3.. I used to visit an optometrist in San Jose, but due to some appointment requirements early I visited them, but found out that the frame they gave was quite costly.
I found the same frame online and when showed them that the actual cost online is almost half, they did not seem happy ( expected ) but said they cannot do anything to lower, but I can get my own frame.
And when I asked them for any discount, they said the max they can do is a 15 cent discount!! meh!!
