I love Dr. Aizuss, yet he needs to know that after being with him for 25 years, things have changed and not for the better. After my September appointment was cancelled when he was ill, they couldn't get me in for two months. Then, I schlep all the way up to Weat Hills from North Hollywood because I hate your Encino office and I sat and waited for 55 minutes. The rude receptionist on the left kept telling me that the machine they needed for my eye tests was busy. I learned from Mark who was so lovely and kept apologizing for her rudeness that the machine was NOT busy and that there was no staff to help me. Five people seeing Dr. Aizuss came in after me according to the Sign In Sheet, and yet I saw them all go in before me. I'm disabled and did not need to sit there for an extra hour. The sad part is I had just given your name and number to my neighbor last night saying that the West Hills office is fabulous and so much better than Encino. Now, I'm not so sure. And, then, the worst part was trying to pay with a credit card and with your huge fees, you actually have the nerve to charge us extra to use a card. You should have put that in all the text and email messages that you've been sending me the past few weeks. That is very disrepectful that you don't tell us that ahead of time because I would have brought a check with me. If you are going to charge that ridiculous fee, then you need to put that in a notice to us upfront. And, if you really want us to feel comfortable, no one introduced themself to me except for Eddie. Not only did he tell me his name without me having to ask, he actually had a badge on which no one else did. Wow! And, no one else told me their name unless I asked.

I've been coming here for years. Dr. Zeegen saw me for more than 15 years. He referred me over to Dr. Kramer for a more specialized treatment and practitioner, and he's been really excellent. I've been seeing him for a little over a year and I'm impressed with the care I've received. I've only ever had good experiences here, despite some of the procedures and how uncomfortable they are, they always manage to keep me grounded and in good spirits!

Dr Abbassi, doctor from HELL Bedside manner zero Professionalism zero Morality zero Medical Ethics zero - Context: My dad lost vision in one of his eyes. We got an appointment on Monday and found out it was a retina tear which requires surgery ASAP or there is risk of loss of vision for good. - ZERO Bedside manner & professionalism: During exams which was a 2 hour day, he was extremely rude, very short, impatient, and aggressive. To the point that he popped 2 veins in my dad's eye. When I say he was impatient I don't mean we expected him to spend 1-2 minute extra with us. I mean spending 10 extra "seconds". When you give an elderly commands: up, down, left, right, with an instrument in their eye, and you see they don't follow as quickly, you can instead go: up- one second pause, down- one second pause,... and I'm sure he would be able to follow and he wouldn't leave with a bloody eye. The worst part is that not only he was not apologetic; he was even nagging, mumbling stuff. My dad is the calmest most polite patient that anyone who has treated him, attests to. Every single time, doctors, nurses, surgeons, technicians always make a comment that your dad is so nice. - ZERO Morality & medical ethics: Everyone knows that a retina tear is a very important and urgent issue to be addressed ASAP. When one gets a retina tear, the surgeon schedules them on the first surgery day after the visit. Timing is everything as retina starts to die when it disconnects from veins. We had the surgery scheduled for a Wednesday or Thursday and the day before the assistant called to cancel, insinuating that they are referring us to ucla who has can do the surgery for him with one night stay. We called the number thinking that there has been coordinations. But No! They had just canceled the surgery and sent us on a Hail Mary. When we said ucla can't schedule us in the next 1-2 days and we'd like to proceed with Dr. Abbassi, the staff said Dr Abbassi isn't sure you are able to do the after surgery care, so he's not gonna do it! What?! Why did he think we might not be able to do the after surgery care? Because we asked many questions on were concerned about the details of post surgery care. In the end we hired 3 nurses for a week to monitor him 24/7. Bought a body pillow to prevent him from turning when he's sleep, and rented a massage chair that helps him remain in the desired position. So we didn't give any indication that we are unable to care for him. We only were shocked of the level of care needed. Anyway- in the end we ended up being refered by a Harvard friend to Dr. Esmaili and we could not be happier. Although my dad's surgery had to be postponed by a few days to have it done by Dr. Esmaili, but the result was so fantastic one year post surgery that it blew the ophthalmologist, the cataract doctor and optometrist away. His vision is more than 70-80% back. If we had gone to him instead of Abbassi, he might have gotten closer to 90% back. Dr. Esmaili's technique is second to none.

Dr Kramar saw me quickly about an eye emergency problem. He thoroughly examined my eye, explained what was wrong, gave me verbal and written instructions for medication dosages (which I only discovered much later when I was going through my purse). Dr. Kramar articulates clear, incisive assessments. He's a very good, trustworthy ophthalmologist.
