United Health Centers - Fresno S Street

The one-star reviews genuinely represent the reality of this establishment. I arranged my appointment well in advance and have been anticipating this day for several months. My glasses are essential to me as I use them on a daily basis. A receptionist at a different location processed my insurance and informed me that it would cover all the services I requested, subsequently scheduling my appointment. Therefore, one would assume that upon arriving at this location, everything would proceed smoothly, correct? WRONG. Upon entering, I was not greeted, and not a single receptionist acknowledged my presence. I signed in, and after a brief wait, I was informed that they attempted to contact me on the DAY OF my appointment to notify me that my insurance would NOT cover the services. It is unacceptable to have booked this appointment in advance, only to be informed on the DAY OF that my insurance would not cover it, especially after having been previously assured of coverage. They claimed to have called me, yet I have no record of any missed calls from them. I suspect they neglected to make the call and are attempting to conceal their mistake. They offered to reschedule my appointment, but only for several months later. I require their services immediately, so I will be seeking alternatives elsewhere.

The ophthalmologist I saw was truly exceptional. Dr.Phyo was very knowledgeable and experienced, and she took the time to thoroughly explain my condition to me. They answered all of my questions patiently and comprehensively, and I never felt rushed or pressured. They also provided me with various treatment options and helped me choose the best one for my needs. I highly recommend the United Health Center's ophthalmology department to anyone looking for excellent eye care. They offer a combination of friendly staff, skilled doctors, modern facilities, and advanced equipment, all at an affordable price. The optometrist Desiree Sison is very rude & unprofessional has no patients for children & should not be working with them. She had the audacity to tell me she recommends I don't bring my 1 yr old next time to my appointment.

Optomertry check in , front desk. Not good service.We walked in because my daughter had broken glasses. I asked for an appointment because my daughter wants a different frame. She looked up her file and said her insurance doesn't cover until another year. She assumed that I couldn't pay for some new glasses for my daughter. Didn't give me no option. Was not helpful. And now I'm going somewhere else to BUY eye vision glasses for my daughter.

One word, rude! The receptionists are all rude! They will not care about you or your time, they will also tell you it's not their job to verify insurance, and will refuse to check you in. So what is your job??? Dear United health center, you are paying your receptionists to be rude! Unprofessional! Worst customer service ever experienced. They also threaten to refuse service and cancel my appointment because they couldn't pick up the phone to call the insurance to verify information they do not have even though proof of insurance was provided. This information should have been verified before I arrive when all the necessary information was provided to you. The manager blamed it on their ignorance. Ignorance is not bliss and does not excuse you from being rude to patients.

Monday, November 25th 1 hour wait for the consultation and no more patients

The girls at the front desk were very friendly. The wait wasn't long at all. Got in and out quickly. Dr was very nice and explained my condition to me.

Dr. Phyo is amazing and so kind. Everyone in this office was so sweet and calmed my anxiety. I'm actually excited for my next appointment.
