My experience with Specialty Eye Care was disappointing due to poor communication and scheduling issues. My original appointment was canceled without notice, and I was rescheduled weeks later. Because of insurance restrictions, I had no alternative provider, which made the situation frustrating. I recommend researching and reading reviews carefully before choosing this clinic.
There's a reason their overall rating is so low. My mom had eye laser surgery here, and the whole experience left me really disappointed. They gave us two different prices -- $3,200 if we paid cash, but $3,500 if we used a credit card. That just feels like a rip-off and completely unprofessional, especially in healthcare. It honestly made us feel like they see patients as dollar signs, not people. Really upsetting experience, and I wouldn't recommend this place!!!
Im suprised by the low ratings, so far the staff has been very nice and MD is great he has been genuine and its clear he knows what he is doing. He has provided great care to my 85 yr old grandmother who came in for a second opinion
If you have the time to sit and wait indefinitely, this place might work for you. But if you value timely service and respect for patients' time, I recommend looking elsewhere--there are many other eye specialists to choose from. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this clinic.
Long story short, took my elderly mother for a follow up appointment that took about 2 hours, for no other reason than lack of care for people's time and/or overbooking! Save yourself the trouble and find another place!
This place is extremely unprofessional. Please don't get surgery here; they will make you permanently blind. I brought my dad here, and they ruined his eye. If you ask any questions, the surgeon gets anxious and always becomes frustrated. Please save yourself and consult a different eye doctor.
I found the receptionist to be extremely rude to me for no reason. I could not figure out the elevator for the life of me as I am disabled myself and she got so annoyed I pushed the button for assistance that called the elevator company. She came in so hot saying "you're not supposed to do that! And you're supposed to close the door". I will also add that when I got there was a huge super heavy box in the elevator and I had trouble fitting with my walker. This place does not think about their handicap patients. Also when I had first came out of my appointment to try to schedule my next appointment she passive aggressively told me it wasn't going to be there and stapled a business card to my paper. I had over heard her making appointments for everyone else. But also it's not what you say but how you say it.
It is impossible to get through to this clinic by phone. They inform patients about their surgery but fail to provide the time, forcing everyone to call the clinic and figure it out themselves. This not only overloads their staff but also shows complete disrespect for their clients' time. They couldn't care less that clients have to waste their time trying to reach them, as it takes at least an hour to get through. Even then, the person answering calls might easily hang up if something doesn't suit them. This is outrageous and unacceptable. I believe this clinic should be shut down as soon as possible, as I have never encountered such disrespect towards patients before.
I requested my medical records on October 10th and was told it would take a few days, and agreed to the $30 fee. A week later, I called only to find out my request had never been submitted. After multiple follow-ups, I finally learned I needed to contact a different office due to a transfer--something that could have and should have been communicated to me from the start.
I have legal rights to MY medical records, so I don't understand why it's so difficult to obtain a copy. The staff acts as if these records belong to them, rather than to me. While the doctor is nice and knowledgeable, the staff is utterly incompetent and unprofessional. This level of disorganization is unacceptable, and if I could give zero stars, I absolutely would
