Costco Optical Department

There was so much attitude in there. I watched how they spoke to some of the customers. One of them basically yelled at a lady when she was lost by the sink to take out her contacts. but on the other hand, there was one really sweet girl! Amber I think was her name. She spoke me through everything and was so careful and soft spoken. I appreciated her very much!

Consistently negative experience with this location. Team is trying to upsell or sneak in extra charges. - Watch out for the last step of the waiver in the iPad, the last 2 forms are to get you to agree to extra exam services for $30. - Get written confirmation of price before the exam (idk if that actually would've helped tho). When I arrived the receptionist confirmed I was there for both contacts and glasses, confirmed my insurance would cover it, highlighted that it would be $15, then after the exam charged me $65. When I asked to clarify her attitude changed and she got very rude. She also tried not to give me a receipt. - Stick to what you're comfortable with and know the recommendations are for profit not necessarily what's best for your health. The doctor tried to sell me on daily contacts, even when I said I'm on a budget and more comfortable with bi-weekly ones. She then whipped out a calculator to prove the cost difference and push me to switch (excuse me solution is not $150/year). When I pushed back she then pushed monthly contacts on me (also more expensive). The doctor was nice but I really didn't like the high pressure sales approach from a healthcare provider. This was the second time I've come here and definitely going to find another optometrist.

Really impressed by how helpful and expert and kind the salesman Mr. Andres Vasquez was, thank you for a great experience for a complex optical challenge!

Just to inform that the independent ophthalmologist is incredibly expensive compare with others in town. Pretty rude owner too. Quote 119 for an eye exam and target next door charges 70. Target has a great service and friendly doctors. Don't waste your time going to the ophthalmologist center at Costco in Goleta. By the way Costco store is great. I wish they would filter the independent contractors in the store.

Andres was super helpful with my mom today. He was kind and paid attention to our concerns. She's really going to enjoy the glasses she ordered.

Terrible attitude. I arrived to my appointment and they had trouble looking up my plan. When I asked if they could look it with the plans name, she rambled off an answer which showed me she hadn't heard my question. I then assumed she didn't listen and gave her the answer I thought she wanted. I then asked her if I needed to get my eyes dilated and she said I could refuse and I could choose a different option if I wanted. I refused both services. Right before I started the exam I realized they wanted to charge me more for the plan I didn't want. When they said I had agreed to it I told them no I didn't and began to argue with me. I decided it wasn't worth it. I'd rather pay more and get actual professionals.

Lots of errors. They might be cheaper but accuracy is a problem. Don't you get your eyeglasses made there if you don't have time for them to redo them

I had a very nice experience at Costco. Dr. Bream was very engaging and informative about the use of contacts. The young lady in the office could not have been more patient and encouraging when fitting me for the contact and believe me, I had to be the worst patient ever. The employees at the counter were very sweet and helpful too. They willingly fixed my glasses. What I did notice was some of the customers were very rude and demanding almost blaming the employees for the pricing policies.
