Eye Spy Optometric

I've been a loyal customer at Eye Spy for years and have spent a lot of money here, at least six frames between my daughter and me. I was really disappointed by the customer service I received during my recent visit. I called a few weeks ago about my Gucci sunglasses, which are less than a year old. I was told all glasses come with a one-year warranty and to bring them in for evaluation. It took me some time to come by, but I finally made it in, hoping to get the screw replaced since it's been about three months since it came out. When I arrived, the employee who helped me was noticeably rude and dismissive. She told me the warranty only applies to prescription glasses, which completely contradicted what I was told over the phone. Her tone made me feel as though I was trying to get something for free, when I had simply followed the store's own instructions. Even when I stayed polite and mentioned that it was my birthday, not for acknowledgment but just sharing how happy I was to finally get my glasses fixed, she showed no warmth or professionalism. Thankfully, the manager did step in and wish me a happy birthday, which I appreciated, but overall the experience left a bad impression. I've always liked Eye Spy due to the nice frame selections and have supported this business for years. However, after this visit, I'll be reconsidering where I take my business. It doesn't take much to treat customers with basic respect and kindness.

Have been going to Eye Spy for over 10 years and always Jeana provides great service.. Had an issue a few months ago but Jeana was able to solve the issue. She always does her best to help solve any issues. Thank you Jeana, this is one of the main reasons we keep coming back to Eye Spy.

Very disappointed with the service at Eye Spy Optometric (Hayward). In November 2025, I got my prescription done here for the first time and paid to order a frame with transition lenses. About 3 weeks later, they told me my glasses were ready, so I went to pick them up. After wearing them for one day, I realized the lenses were not transition at all. I went back to the store and was told they made a mistake and ordered the wrong lenses. They asked me to keep the incorrect pair since it was their error, and said they would remake the glasses. Another 3 weeks later, they called and said the new glasses were ready. When I went there for the third time, they suddenly asked me to bring the old frame--which they never mentioned on the phone. I explained that I was only told the glasses were ready for pickup, and nothing about bringing anything with me. Since this mistake was caused by their shop, better communication should have been their responsibility. Because of this, I now have to make a fourth trip just to get one pair of glasses, repeatedly taking time out of my schedule for their errors. This experience showed very poor communication, poor service, and no consideration for the customer's time. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this place at all.

Absolutely love Eye Spy! I've been going here for over 25 years and I take my daughter here too. Very professional and efficient. They have great selections to choose from and customer service has always been above and beyond. Definitely recommend!

Very professional, clean, great atmosphere. The staff are so nice and the different doctors that I've seen are all great! I always feel taken care of here.

The people working here are very nice, the doctors are accommodating, but they try to upsell you CONSTANTLY and never offer to get you something that is fully covered. And then the last time I came in I noticed they don't use cases to keep the frames safe, just a thin layer of plastic and a rubber band. Well the same frames came in TWICE covered in scratches after I asked them to send it back. Still waiting for my frames. Don't think I got the right prescription either. I'll be going elsewhere to find better options, I've never gotten brand new scratched frames before let alone twice in a row. Edit: went back to pick up the glasses and they didn't know how to adjust it right so they said I had crooked ears .. and tried saying I brought the glasses to them that way. Seriously? I bought them there lmao. I ended up adjusting the frames on my own at home. Never going back again

Would not recommend going here. They charged an extra $85+ for a contact lens fitting on top of the eye exam, and they were not transparent about any of the pricing beforehand. I wasn't told the cost of the daily, weekly, or monthly contacts, or the fitting fee, until after I had already completed the exam. Then, a week later, they called and said I needed to pay even more because the pricing they originally gave me was incorrect. I would never have agreed to any of this if I had known the complete cost breakdown at the beginning of my appointment.
