I have been a patient at Blackstone Optometry for over ten years and have consistently had an excellent experience. The staff is friendly, professional, and extremely helpful, and they offer a great selection of frames to choose from. They take the time to clearly explain options based on insurance coverage, which makes the process straightforward and stress-free. I especially appreciate that they do not try to upsell unnecessary services. Dr. Simon Cheng is highly knowledgeable, attentive, and thorough, taking the time to answer all of my questions in a clear and easy-to-understand way. This level of care and transparency is truly appreciated when it comes to overall eye health.

Based on my recent experience, I visited the office to purchase a new pair of glasses using my valid prescription on file. I explained that I wanted to stay within my insurance allowance and that this would be my second pair, so I did not need premium lens options. However, the process became challenging when I realized that none of the frames displayed prices. Each frame I selected was over my budget. When I asked why prices weren't shown, I was told that I would need to choose a frame first and then go to the register to find out the cost. I also requested guidance on which frames were within my budget, but no clear options were provided. After paying, I asked for an itemized receipt to understand the charges. I was told it would be emailed within 10 minutes. Two days passed without receiving it, so I followed up. I was told again that it would be sent by the end of the day, but it never arrived. The next communication I received--about a week later--was to inform me that my glasses were ready for pickup. When I picked up the glasses and insisted on receiving the receipt, I was surprised to learn the actual amount my insurance covered, which had never been disclosed to me. I also noticed a charge for an option I had clearly declined. Pros: The staff members were consistently friendly and respectful which is the reason for the two stars. Con: Transparency around pricing is needed. Clear communication about costs and insurance coverage would go a long way. Final Thoughts: Honest and proactive communication about pricing builds trust and strengthens customer loyalty.

The friendliest and most efficient optometry office I've ever been too. So happy I decided to try them out for my most recent exam. Excellent exam. They also made buying my lenses super easy and helped with all the rebates and insurance!

I had $350 hmo insurance that I tried to use here. I have to get car service to go in; I picked out a pair of frames. I had unanswered calls and unresponsive emails. when I tried to make appointment and get glasses finalized. I didn't get cooperation. Time ran out waiting on them. I'd already gotten expensive glasses from them. And Their answer is, you have insurance renewal for glasses in Jan 2026, NO I don't. In any case, I lost getting a pair of glasses i could have purchased with insurance. My mistake, I wanted to use a local business. And expected better service. My Bad, From now on I am using chain corporation optometrist for glasses.

This place is very cozy, I have been visiting here since 2009. Dr Simon is the founder and he is doing miracle fitting me with very tricky prescriptions. The whole team is absolutely awesome. P.S. street paring only

Last month I went into Blackstone really frustrated with not having been able to previously get "usable" computer/reader glasses elsewhere, but Thomas the optician seemed to know exactly what I needed down to the type of material that should be used to produce the progressive lenses for optimal results. I picked up the glasses a couple of weeks ago and I could not possibly be more pleased with them -- they are PERFECT -- seriously, PERFECT. I cannot recommend Blackstone Optometry highly enough and as soon as my insurance resets in January I will be going back for new prescription sunglasses.

Came in for my yearly appointment for contacts and glasses. Great team ! The whole crew was fun, effective, and welcoming. The Doctor explained my prescription and options so well. Highly recommend this spot for their service and team!
