My wife needed an adjustment on a pair of sunglasses, so we stopped into the Century City store hoping someone might be able to help. From the moment we walked in, Mike greeted us with such a warm, welcoming smile.
We showed him the glasses, where one arm was bent, and without hesitation he kindly offered to take a look. He brought them to the back, and just moments later returned with them perfectly adjusted -- they looked as good as new!
In a time when truly great customer service feels rare, Mike's kindness, friendliness, and professionalism absolutely stood out. Experiences like this are memorable, and because of him, we will gladly go out of our way to return to this store in the future.
I walked in one day to discuss how unhappy I was with my current lenses bought from an online company. They weee expensive blended bifocals that had all kinds of bells and whistles on them. But they were a disaster. The optometrist promised me that if I let them redo my lenses in progressive form I would be happy. I had previously tried progressives and hated them. I felt like I was swimming in a fish bowl. However, he promised I would love them, or he would put me back in blended bifocals at no charge. 5 days later my progressive lenses arrived and they are amazing. He was 100% correct that I would love them. I won't go anywhere else after this great experience.
The front desk staff were friendly and I was able to get an appointment quickly as a new patient. I saw Dr. Garcia for a routine eye exam and he was extremely professional, knowledgeable and kind. He performed a much more thorough exam than other places I've been in the past and was able to rule out certain things that could be contributing to my dry eyes. He walked me through different treatment options and I now have a comprehensive regimen of drops, supplements, and heat compresses.
Always a pleasure going into this store. Everyone is always kind and helpful. I've had several custom lenses done here and I highly recommend them. They also have a great selection of sun and eyeglasses.
I've been a long-time patient at this office and have always appreciated the care of the optometrist, who is excellent -- knowledgeable, kind, and thorough. There is also one gentleman who helps with frame selection (I regret I can't remember his name), but he is truly exceptional at what he does. His eye for matching frames to faces is remarkable -- I would honestly pay him independently for his help because he's that good.
Unfortunately, the retail experience has become deeply frustrating and disappointing. I recently came in to have prescription lenses added to a pair of sunglasses. A full week later, I returned to find clear lenses had been installed instead -- and no one had reviewed or checked the order before I was called in to pick them up.
At the same time, I was encouraged to replace the lenses in an older pair of glasses, even though the prescription change was barely noticeable. During the lens replacement, the staff broke my frames -- and not only did no one apologize, but the whole incident was treated as if it were a nonissue. When I asked for a comparable replacement for the frames they had broken, they seemed genuinely surprised that I'd even ask. There was no attempt to take ownership, no willingness to work with me, and no sense of accountability.
I was told I had a "credit" toward new frames, but due to the brands they carry, there was no realistic way to get a new pair without out-of-pocket cost -- and if that was somehow possible, it was never explained. When I questioned how this could be considered fair, I was pointed to a small sign posted in a far corner of the store, nowhere near where the service occurred.
There was zero empathy, zero transparency, and zero effort to make things right. I've referred many friends to this practice, and my wife is also a patient. I've never been treated so poorly at any business -- let alone one I've supported and trusted for years.
While the optometrist and the frame specialist remain excellent, the overall retail experience at CCO has deteriorated into indifference and a lack of accountability. There are many choices for eyewear and eye care in this area. If you're considering CCO, I strongly recommend thinking again -- and I say that as someone who has been a loyal customer for a very long time.
Dropped off a pair of frames yesterday and went back in for an OC height today. Had a fantastic experience with these guys in the past when I've come in, but the optician today was so smug, rude, and negative that it made me cancel my order, take the frames back, and get a refund. If you want to be condescended to and talked down to while being overcharged vs most other optical labs in Los Angeles, this is the place for you. If you want to be price gauged while this guy gets off on feeling like he's better than you, definitely get your glasses here. If you're normal and this doesn't sound appealing to you, just go somewhere else, the convenience of it being in the mall is not worth the smugness.
Wonderful selection of frames. And the staff is always so helpful and polite.
Friendly staff and very thorough eye exam! I get my new progressive lenses in less than 2 weeks! Dr. Garcia is fantastic!
