It is rare to find any doctor as knowledgeable in his profession, who practices what he advises his patients to do. Dr. Bijan Cohenmehr is a rarity in LA. I rarely endorse physicians or other healthcare providers, since I can only speak for my own experience. I've been his patient for close to 30 years now and It's been proven to me I chose the right optometrist years ago. His practice can be described as holistic, since he gets to know his patients well enough to recommend best practices that even the best of primary care MDs do not have the time nor the inclination to make. He is simply the best, and every one of his staff mirrors his professionalism. I can't thank him enough for caring about my health as he would for his own family.
I actually look forward to my appointments, knowing every aspect of the care of my eyes will be addressed, including referrals to ophthalmologists, the wide range of eyeglass frames on display, as well as the best nutrition advice for eye health. That Dr. Cohenmehr's son is now a practicing DO alongside his dad speaks volumes about this family of caring professionals.
If you happen to become his patient, ask him about the books he'd recommend. I have no doubt you will thank him later.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the care I receive from Dr. Cohenmehr and his team. Dr. Cohenmehr always takes the time to answer all my questions during our visits and makes sure I have all the info I need to make informed decisions about my eye care. He and his team are always very transparent about pricing, options, and what is/is not covered by insurance, which I cannot say for all healthcare providers with whom I have worked. I would highly recommend Dr. Cohenmehr and his team if you are looking for an optometrist for you or your family!
