This for treated me for over two decades and the last 6 years he has failed me. I had sight and be use of his lack of communication I lost my left eye sight and had close calls with the right. Every time I tried to bring up issues he would turn them down. He couldn't care less that he ruined my life, never did he tell me that my left eye was in extreme danger, that the optic nerve was compromised each and every time, he told me that the cornea was healing but be use of me he took it out and replaced it, had he checked beforehand and told me that the cornea was healing then I would have waited instead of going under the knife, going through two more rejections and then him telling me that my aunt would get better after the second cornea Aubrey even though I saw black, it wasn't until 5 months later the state disability doctor told me my optic nerve was completely damaged and that no sight would ever return, even when I went back to Dr t to demand an explanation he couldn't he said things just happened, I was already blind for months still waiting and hoping my vision would go back!! My fault for trusting this man with my vision on the line. Even now I've had adverse reactions to both eyelea and avastin eye injections three separate times in the right eye and he can't tell me anything differently he just says my eye is weak, then why inject me if it's that's weak?? I know I have small edema bouts but you can't tell me not to try to save what's left of the vision you damaged. I never had issues prior to this, he saved my sight ONCE UPON A TIME, but overworked and tired with vague answers and no real plan for me and the damaged vision, it's disheartening. So disappointment that I trusted the man to save my sight and now my life is ruined. His staff never get the meds in on time, Patty the manager never listened to my concerns and really didn't care about patients or their wellbeing. You're always going to wait 4-5 hours for no real explanation. Do yourself favor tread lightly and seek out another eye dr, one that hears you and doesn't shun your thoughts, fears and ideas. Worse thing I ever did was stay as long as u did with this "Dr" good luck and take care of your vision.

I have been seeing Dr. Tawansy for over five years for a retinal condition. Each visit typically involves a long wait, as he is in high demand--but the wait has always been worth it. Over the years, my visits have mostly been for routine checkups, and I've become used to the calm, steady pace of those appointments.
However, last week something unexpected happened--my eye developed a sudden, unusual issue. I sent Dr. Tawansy a quick message just to inform him, fully understanding how packed his schedule usually is. To my surprise, he responded immediately and urged me to come into the office as soon as possible.
When I arrived, he saw me right away and promptly began treatment. By the next day, my symptoms were under control, and I felt a huge sense of relief.
That experience reminded me once again why Dr. Tawansy is so highly respected. He treats every patient with kindness and compassion, but it's his swift decision-making and deep expertise that truly set him apart. I'm deeply grateful to be under his care.
In 2014 I was diagnosed with a fairly rare disease, with one of the initial complications that this disease possibly causes, is blindness. I was finally referred to Dr. Tawansy in 2017, as my eyes suddenly began to deteriorate. From the minute I met him, I felt totally safe in his hands & confident that he would save my vision. He immediately did cataract surgery on both eyes and it was amazing afterwards, as my vision was better than it ever was in my life. I'm still a very pleased patient of Dr. Tawansy & highly recommend him to all my friends also!
I woke up one morning with floaters and stingers in my right eye. I knew this was a problem. I went to the local emergency room and was diagnosed with a torn retina. I was referred to another hospital ER which ultimately got me in contact with DR Tawansy. I was immediately taken in and surgery was completed. I never loss any vision in my eye . He made sure that I understood the importance of taking the eye drops he prescribed and even gave me his personal cell phone to call if any issues arose. I highly recommend him.
Great location located right off the freeway, almost literally, lol.
Great front desk assistance as well.
Thank you for making this appointment pleasant and easy.
My daughter has been seeing this doctor since she was a little over 2 or near 3 years old. He cleaned up scar tissue left by another surgeon. He has further done about 3 surgeries on my daughter for ROP side affects. He saved her from losing her right eye. He works hard and knows what he's doing. I feel like he truly cares about her and she's not just another patient. She also loves seeing him. People come from all over to see him. Please keep in mind he is a specialist and he's good. He has a TON of patients ranging in ages. In my 19 year experience, a good specialist works long hours and has a backed up patient load. So when you come, you'll likely drive far, wait a while, and have a limited choice on appointment days. Don't make any time sensitive plans that day and bring something to do because you'll likely wait a LONG time. But that is the price you pay for a good specialist who cares about their patients and works hard for them. This isn't a quick little GP check up. Most people come to him with major issues not many others can correctly resolve. He's worth the wait. And remember doctors are humans too.
Very professional. Very knowledgeable. This doctor doesn't play around and pass time chit chatting, therefore, don't expect to be pampered. The wait time is long. He sees multiple people and he is a specialist, therefore, common sense would tell a person to prepare for long wait times.... Take a snack, a book and a nap if you have to, it's worth the wait! If you're lucky enough to be referred to him be thankful.
I too saw Dr Twansey for a detached retina, in his Pasadena office
I have very little sight in that eye, blurry vision, distorted images, and only see in black and white.
If you value your eyesight don't let Dr Twansey near your most treasured gift
