Dr. Martin Hyman - Eye Martin Optometry

I rarely write reviews, but this experience warrants one. When a business provides poor service, I usually just don't return. Unfortunately, this was an exception. To start, I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment and was not seen until 45 minutes after my scheduled time. This delay occurred because the office allowed a patient who arrived over an hour late to be seen before me. That alone was frustrating and unprofessional. The front desk employee was curt and unhelpful, offering little guidance and acting as though I should already know everything about eyewear. As a patient, I expect clear communication and basic courtesy, neither was provided. After my appointment, I informed the office that I would be out of town when my glasses were ready and asked if someone else could pick them up. I was told instead that they could ship the glasses to my location. A full month passed and nothing was shipped. Worse, I could not get anyone on the phone despite repeated attempts. It ultimately took calling several times in a row during a weekday just to reach someone. When I finally spoke to a staff member, I was told the glasses would be shipped "soon." At that point, I was left wondering why they had not already been shipped, given the time that had passed and the prior assurances. Overall, the experience reflected poor scheduling practices, inadequate customer service, and a lack of follow-through. I will not be returning.

I have been seeing Dr. Martin Hyman for about 35 years..He is optometrist, his office staff is great and his selection of eye glasses has always been great.

Called at least 5 times over multiple days. Think they're ghosting me? Doctor is kind of impatient. Charged me for tests and never gave results. Accidentally charged me for one eyes contacts, instead of both, then called me back later to charge me for the other eye because they forgot? Then the contacts came months late with no communication. Takes multiple emails, phone calls, and showing up for even an update in status. Never been anywhere without a simple receptionist team...

Occurred to me I've never left a review of my eye dr's office for all the years I've been coming here (about 8 yrs). Excellent eye care, product advice, recommendations, and yes, samples! (which is extremely helpful for selecting just the right contact lenses). They are highly experienced and always willing to go the extra mile to deliver a positive customer experience, especially my guy Steve. Thank you Dr. Hyman and team for taking expert care of these old eyes. :)

I first met Dr. Hyman Sr., and now the son continues the legacy. Customer service is incredible. I've been back because my frame broke several times and their inhouse technician fixes them on the spot. A pair of white gold Cartier frames needed to be sent out and the repair cost was less than $100. They remember you by name and by face. Treat you like family. I highly recommend over those chain stores where you are just a number, just a customer. Dr. Hyman and his team are awesome. Best regards
