I usually don't write reviews, but I love to share my successful experience with Dr. Lorin Vogel and Dry Eyes Los Angeles, with the hope that it can help others who suffer from dry eyes and are looking for different treatment options. I was lucky enough to find out about Dry Eyes Los Angeles when my dry eye condition was so severe that it literally had taken over my normal life. I was already told by many ophthalmologists that there was no cure and I had to learn to live with my chronic dry eye condition. Even though I used both prescription and OTC eye drops and followed every instruction for home remedies, I was not able to spend a day without suffering from at least some of the symptoms, including watery eyes, redness, itchiness, stinging, burning, grittiness, pain, fatigue, and droopiness. At the end, I had even hard time driving because of the symptoms. My first appointment with Dr. Vogel was for the assessment of my condition, by using a special device, to determine if I'm a good candidate for the treatment. I found his office very pleasant, well-equipped, and the staff were very professional and super friendly. During that visit, I found out that my problem was not necessarily lack of tears (as other doctors had suggested), but rather lack of enough active oil glands in my eyelids to prevent the tears from evaporating too quickly. Dr. Vogel used a device called Mibo ThermoFlo, and manual expression, to open the existing clogged glands, so they produce the necessary moisturizing oil for my eyes again. So far, I have finished the required four treatment sessions, and I also went back for a maintenance treatment. I cannot even explain how happy and grateful I am with the treatments. Yes, I still have dry eye condition, and I still need to use eye drops and heat pads - I never expected miracles. But, I got the relief that I hoped for, and it enabled me to live a normal life again, without the constant agony of my dry eye condition.

I had been bothered by the dry eye problem for 10 months. I have seen many doctors and the treatment was just using artificial tears, warm patch and eye drops with steroids. When I stopped the steroid eye drops my eyes are constantly feeling scratched and non-stop tearing. My life is severely impacted by not able to use my vision. Luckily I found Dr. Vogel. After his 1st treatment (out of a series of 4 suggested), I got back to normal which I hadn't feel so comfortably for a long time. Now it had been 3 weeks feeling great that I almost forgot that I have a dry eye problem. I am very pleased with his method and also impressed with his pleasant personality. He is very patient in explaining to me all procedures and my cause of problems. I have to drive 2 hours each way from Irvine to get my treatment but it is definitely worth the time spent. Doctor Lorin Vogel is a real expert with all dry eyes treatment (think for post LASIK dryness, lack of tears, need for eye drops constantly). He goes above and beyond to take care of the patient and puts extra effort in to diagnose the patient and solve the problems he or she may face. Working with Dr. Vogel helped me tremendously in treating my post LASIK dry eye issues and I would recommend him highly to patients in Greater LA looking to deal with significant dry eye issues. He offers manual (by hand) expressions with the tear ducts to ensure their health and make sure they produce adequate moisture (keeping eyes as moist as possible).
