I have been going to HDE for 6+ years. I found them cause I was hunting for vintage eyewear and when I walked in I knew I hit the JACKPOT. Not only is their selection incredible, well maintained, and often updated; the service is always fantastic. Javier is usually there and really has become a friend over the years. I can't remember how many times he's adjusted, repaired, or put my glasses back together after I did lord knows what to them. His prices are fair and the work they do is excellent. You get what you pay for and if something isn't satisfactory they'll adjust it. I am born and raised in LA and I wouldn't go anywhere else to get my glasses.

Walking in this neighborhood can be intimidating, and frustrating as well; everything is pricey, and the sales people' attitude usually tells you how unhappy they are, hence dragging you with them, for a moment... just long enough to get out of their shop (although they just wok there, right?)

Javier is the kind of salesman that works with you, without being pesty; always with a smile on his face- while listening to you- or with a ton of fun anecdotes to share with you, if you feel like listening. His store has a lot of "one of a kind", so every item has the story behind it...
I've got this super-cool frames at an insanely cheap price. Honestly, I never met the guy before, but he has a customer for life.
