I had the best experience as a new patient yesterday and I am usually really uncomfortable with eye exams. I explained that I had one doctor the past years that had given me several techniques to relax so between those and the conversation that Dr. Kim had explaining everything thoroughly helped so much. Thanks for that experience!

Saw Dr. Kim a year ago and it took me a while to write this review. Very kind, patient, friendly and thorough per her other reviews, but I was unhappy with my experience because after TWO weeks of persistent pain with a foreign object in my eye, the ER and an optometrist, after finally FINALLY getting an appointment with her I told her at the end of my 30-45 minute exam that my eye still hurt. She laughed and insisted I was "just" experiencing "allergies" from cat hairs, no matter how precisely and distinctly different I described the pain to her to be (it felt like a sharp, tiny grain of sand). No one would waste all their time going through all that if something was not wrong, and her advice could have damaged my vision permanently had I not been in so much pain I had to see someone else. I wound up going against her advice and going to a fourth doctor the next day, another opthalmologist, who was able to locate the foreign object in my eye and remove it in under a minute. I asked him what he found, and he paused to confirm it was indeed a tiny, black speck of debris. People know their own bodies - it may seem like nothing to you, but you don't have to live with it nor is it your body. You don't get to tell people what they're experiencing - a commonly known bias in the healthcare field any provider should actively be combating and something I unfortunately seem to experience consistently with certain medical insurance providers. When I am placing my health in a healthcare provider's hands it's important to me that they intend to fix the actual reality of the medical problem and not shape it into what they want it to be. The fact that I have to write this out at all is scary to me, but an unfortunate fact and the impact of this visit still sticks out in my memory quite vividly even a year later. It's not something anyone wants to experience or have to waste any more energy on, but this was my experience and I hope anyone else who goes through it actually gets the help they need.

Absolutely the best. You will know what I mean when you go see her. She is super thorough and caring. You will not find a better ophthalmologist. I can believe how lucky we got by choosing her by accident. 10000% recommended!!
