LA Sight was amazing from start to finish! Dr. Moarefi was so kind and answered any and all my questions. He gave me options for which type of surgery I could go with and the benefits of each, and made sure I felt comfortable before, during, and after my surgery! During the surgery, he talked through the whole process and made sure I felt as calm as possible. The rest of the staff is absolutely amazing, not only do they know what they're doing, they are so kind and personable as well! Dr. Tseng did my pre op checks and she is so sweet and explained everything so well, in a way that was easy to understand for me. Dr. Tabanfar did my post surgery check and was also so kind and made sure I understood what I needed to do post surgery to ensure my eyes healed in the best way possible! Mariellis helped me coordinate my surgery, she explained all the costs for the different type of surgeries, my options for payment, and avenues to make sure I received my antibiotics afterwards! Steven and Tim are amazing technicians, not only did they make me feel comfortable and at ease during the process, they also made me feel like I was more than just a patient! Steven and I talked about our favorite sports teams, and even though his Oregon Ducks beat my Nittany Lions, he made this process better than I could have thought! My eyes feel great and I've already been recommending LA Sight to all my friends who are considering LASIK! I'm so happy I finally got LASIK -- and especially grateful to have found LA Sight! From my first consultation to post-op care, the entire process was seamless, professional, and easy. Everyone made me feel completely at ease -- they explained every step clearly and answered all of my questions with so much patience and care. After discussing options, I went with SMILE, a newer, minimally invasive version of LASIK. Both LASIK and SMILE are excellent choices, and Dr. Moarefi took the time to walk me through each based on my individual case. He's incredibly knowledgeable, up-to-date on the latest advances, and genuinely passionate about what he does. I had considered this surgery for over 10 years but was always too nervous -- Dr. Moarefi & his team were the ones to finally put me at ease. I had one consultation and came in for surgery a few weeks later. The procedure itself was quick and comfortable -- it felt like it took less than a minute per eye! I got numbing drops, and before I knew it, it was done. I rested that evening and woke up the next morning with almost perfect vision. Within a week, it sharpened even more -- and within month, my vision was crystal clear. I can't recommend Dr. Moarefi and the entire LA Sight team enough. From the warm, professional office environment to the amazing care throughout, everything was truly top-notch.

A little over a year ago I found Dr. Moarefi through Yelp when I was looking into LASIK. He examined me and said he couldn't do LASIK because I had cataracts in both eyes that needed to be removed (and that in the process they could put in artificial lenses with the proper correction built in). I'm 67 & I've always been nervous about any kind of eye surgery. But I decided to go ahead with it. It's now been a year and I just had a one year followup appointment with him today. Everything has really gone wonderfully from the moment I met Dr. Moarefi. First of all he has to be one of the warmest & nicest doctors I have ever dealt with (and at my age I've dealt with quite a few). He did a great job of listening to all my questions and explained everything to my satisfaction and beyond--his warm & reassuring manner really helped lower my anxiety. And a year later, my vision is still fine (without glasses, which I'd worn since elementary school). There was never any pain. I don't even remember the recuperation process now--it was easy for me. Occasionally I do get slightly blurry vision for a time, or some soreness, if I stare at my screens for too long without a break. He said today that this is probably just dryness and that ordinary lubricating eye drops should help (so that's on my shopping list now). And of course that it's a good idea to give your eyes a little break from staring at a close-up screen periodically. I was and am on Medicare, and they would have covered (I believe) plain lenses with no correction, but I opted to pay additionally out of pocket for the full correction lenses, and if that's what you need and you're able to cover it, I'd recommend it. It's funny, when he told me I had cataracts, I was shocked because I hadn't heard it before from any other eye doctor and I had no real complaints about my vision--I was just thinking of getting rid of my glasses through LASIK. I did go out and get a second opinion. I was told I did in fact have cataracts, that could probably still wait a while before being treated, because they weren't bothering me, but I decided to go ahead and get it over with with Dr. Moarefi. Because the two surgeries were spaced a couple of weeks apart, I had two weeks with one eye without and one eye with cataracts. I was surprised at how much brighter colors looked in one eye vs. the other. I created a photo comparison to give others an idea of the difference I now had in vision between the two eyes. They should be attached to this review. Anyway, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Moarefi. He's top-notch in every way!

My care team, Dr. Amir Moarefi, Dr. Tiffany Tseng, Andrea Avila, went above and beyond to help me feel reassured and confident in my choice. The surgical team was amazing. Everything was top notch. I had an appointment at LA Sight last week when in LA. Dr. Moarefi provided a thorough exam and patiently explained everything from what was happening to my eyes, to what he could do about it. I appreciated the high-tech equipment used and how brilliant and precise his explanations were. The entire team was professional and welcoming, and I loved the fact that the office walls are covered by pieces of art (can't think of a better use for my vision than fine arts). I had IPL, radio frequency, and meibomian gland expression done along with punctal plugs placed for my newly diagnosed dry eyes at LA Sight. Sima performed all of these procedures in an exemplary and professional manner. She explained everything in detail and made sure that I was comfortable during the procedures. The results have been phenomenal with an amazing improvement in my dry eye condition which usually takes several procedures to be effective. I can speak from experience because when I was a practicing cornea specialist, I performed these procedures on my patients. In all honesty, I have told her many times, that she performs these procedures better than I did. I strongly recommend her for your dry eye treatments.
