No one ever wants to hear they have cancer, let alone a rare cancer in your eye. If you do however, you are in the best hands if your doctor is Dr. Michael I. Seider. He is incredibly brilliant on this type of cancer and made me feel comfortable right away. I never once felt my appointments with him and/or his staff, were transactional. He was very balanced in his explanations of treatment verses monitoring. He didn't try to persuade me one way or the other. As soon as I decided to move forward with treatment, Dr. Seider jumped into action and scheduled tests right away. I never worried too much time was passing between appointments or that my appointments were a waste of time. . I had complete faith he knew the best way to treat my cancer. He is patient, informative and trustworthy . I never felt my appointments were transactional. If he schedules a phone consult with you, he calls on time. If you email, he will answer you or will even call you so you can hear first hand his expertise. He did not pass my needs off onto someone else. I felt grateful to have such a knowledgeable and skilled doctor as the lead on my care team. As odd as this sounds to feel blessed when battling cancer, I can honestly say I could not have gotten luckier then to have Dr. Seider as my oncologist. I hope you never get ocular melanoma but if you do, you need to find Dr. Seider right away!

Dr. Seider was recently my Surgeon for a retina repair and cataract removal. The retina repair was emergency surgery and I feared I would lose site in my right eye. Dr. Seider used his superior skills and experience to repair the extensive damage. He then helped me through recovery, answered all my questions and gave me confidence that allowed me to get through the process. My vision is now 20/20. He is kind, professional and a great surgeon. After a failed first surgery by another doctor, Dr Michael Seider successfully performed surgery to fix my macular hole and retinal detachment at the macular hole. This was a very complex surgery because my eye is highly myopic which presents many challenges for any eye surgeon. Dr Seider is not only a great surgeon but also very caring, warm and attentive. I highly recommend Dr Seider for anyone with retinal issues.
