I had an outstanding experience at my eye appointment with Dr. Ana Vargas and her amazing staff. From the moment I arrived they were welcoming, attentive, and extremely professional. Dr. Vargas took her time to explain everything clearly and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the visit. The staff was friendly and truly went above and beyond to provide excellent care. Eva even made selecting my eyeglasses incredibly simple, guiding me through the options and helping me find the perfect pair. I left feeling confident, well taken care of, and grateful for such exceptional service. Highly recommend Dr. Vargas and her team -- top-notch service from beginning to end!

I've had many eye doctors over the years and Dr. Ana Vargas (Ooh La La Optometry) is by far the absolute BEST! Her friendly, warm and yet still very professional demeanor makes it a great experience every year. The staff is amazing too! And the new location in Atwater Village is beautiful and conveniently located right off the 5 on Los Feliz Blvd. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Ana is wonderful. So friendly, efficient, funny. She explains everything in detail, and encourages questions and discussion. The new space they're in is very nice. I highly recommend her.

My husband and I visited this office with our existing glasses prescriptions to use our VSP insurance. The older woman at the front desk, who appeared to be the office manager, reviewed our prescriptions for quite some time before stating they were expired. I pointed out that the expiration date clearly says 2026, but she ignored my comment and continued staring at the paperwork. She then insisted that prescriptions are only valid for one year by law. I explained that glasses prescriptions in California are valid for two years, while contact lens prescriptions are typically valid for one year. She responded, "By law both are only 1 year," which is incorrect. I told her I work in this field and am well aware that glasses prescriptions are valid for up to two years unless the optometrist specifies otherwise. She did not acknowledge anything I said and simply printed out our insurance information. A gentleman assisting us was kind, but after he stepped into a room, the same woman rushed in after him and whispered something to him. It was very noticeable and, frankly, unprofessional. At that point, we were already uncomfortable--and their frame selection was very limited. When the gentleman returned, we asked if those were all the frames available, and he confirmed they were. We thanked him, and he politely canceled our VSP authorization so we could go elsewhere. We waited until everything was fully canceled before leaving. We want to share this advice: In California, glasses prescriptions are valid for up to two years unless the optometrist has a medical reason to shorten the expiration. Some offices may choose to write them for only one year, but that is not the standard and may result in unnecessary additional costs for patients. The woman told us that their office writes both glasses and contact lens prescriptions for only one year. If you are not experiencing any vision changes and you pay out of pocket for exams or have high copays, it may be beneficial to find an office that honors the standard two-year validity for glasses prescriptions. Also, it's important to understand your insurance benefits. We use our vision insurance app, which clearly shows what we're covered for and what our out-of-pocket costs will be.

Everyone here is so, so nice! I've been going to my previous optometrist for the past years and my prescription was always the same and my dry eyes were never addressed. Dr Vargas recognized immediately that I had dry eyes and told me how to work on it and also gave me a new prescription all while being so sweet! Love it here!

I went in today to see Dr. Vargas and had such a great experience! She was attentive, kind, and made me feel really comfortable throughout the whole visit. The front desk staff was also super friendly and welcoming. I arrived early for my appointment and they were kind enough to accommodate me quickly, which I really appreciated. The whole place had a great vibe -- calm, professional, and comfortable. I'm definitely planning to continue as her patient moving forward!

Dr. Vargas and her team are the absolute best! For most of my life I went to eye doctors who couldn't find my correct prescription, and Dr. Vargas saved the day. Thanks to her, I have a perfect glasses prescription and am able to see the world more clearly. Shoutout to Eva at the front desk :)

I've been seen Dr. Vargas for many years. She's wonderful. Thorough, warm and kind. Her assistants are great, both friendly and helpful. And they have excellent taste in frames!
