I wanted to support a less commercial office so decided to try this place. They called in advance to confirm my insurance and told me my visit would be $10. The guy I spoke with was lovely and I was looking forward to the visit.
I get there and they tell me I can't just get the exam. I have to pay an additional $40 for an eye health evaluation. The woman was rude and condescending as if that is a normal practice to upsell at an eye doctor. They refused to see me for just an exam so I didn't even see a doctor.
A waste of a battle through traffic. I found the upfront swindle sketchy and alarming and can only imagine the patient experience. I would go somewhere else.
The folks here were pretty helpful when I brought in a pair of glasses that needed lenses. The initial lenses had an issue with them and they helped me diagnose the problem and walked me through the options we had getting lenses from them. Special thanks to Mike who was very patient and explained everything well!
A great heath care experience. The office was exceptionally clean. I used the restroom and it was completely spotless and clean. All the staff were safety conscious and used precautions. They were courteous, pleasant, professional. Hand sanitizer everywhere and always wiping down equipment with alcohol wipes. The doctor was great. And the final cost to me after my insurance coverage was very reasonable and within my expectations. Glad I found this place for my eye care. Highly recommended.
My husband has a great experience at the Pacific Eye Center for his eye exams. The office is clean, spacious, professional, high technology, experience doctor and their front desk Monse, she always helpful, friendly and polite! Highly recommended.
There are so many options for eye care services and Optometrists in West LA, whatever you do, please DO NOT use Pacific EyeCare Center. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had (and I've had some awful ones to say the least). This being my first Google review says a lot because I'm usual one to give others the benefit of the doubt.
I've been going to Pacific Eyecare Center for the past 2 years. This year I needed to renew my prescription for my eyeglasses. I brought in my favorite pair of glasses that I've had for a few years now: Oliver Peoples O'Malley (retail $380). I agree to sign a waiver stating that if anything happens to my glasses during the lens exchange process, they are not liable. Which was totally fine by me because I knew it would be a low risk gamble. However I specifically requested that they don't adjust my frames because they were already perfect and I don't like the shape of the arms when they're adjusted. I get my glasses back, everything is fine with the new lenses however the arms are adjusted exactly the way I didn't want them to be. So i request that they fix their mistake by straightening out the arms back to their original form. They rightfully agree to my request. About 20 minutes later an employee comes out with my glasses in hand. This time they're broken; completely snapped in 2. The employee subsequently apologizes to me and says that unfortunately there's nothing that can be done except grant me 20% off in their store. This was late on a Friday so I figured I'll call back Monday to speak to a manager.
Monday comes, I call them back, and speak to a manager. After several back and forths the manager reiterates that there is nothing that can be done except a 30% maximum discount in their store (a measly 10% more than my original offer). So I'm out $380 (plus tax) and the only thing they're willing to do to atone the situation is allow me give them more business in their store? NO THANKS.

I returned here recently after being a happy prior client years ago. Poor experience all around. The exam was essentially conducted via a fancy Zoom call, which was discomforting already. However, the results were especially bad.
A measurement on my contact lens prescription was changed seemingly by accident and was only corrected when I noticed and called to follow up. Additionally, my nearsighted prescription power was overcorrected to the point of making my vision blurry when reading, which I only discovered after already ordering a year's supply of contact lenses that are now overpowered.
I'm giving an extra star since the staff on hand seems to be doing their best given the circumstances, but I wouldn't recommend or trust the exams here.
The whole staff was excellent to me on 11-15-24. I do want to acknowledge, employee, Nagisa. She was patient and very helpful when I was selecting a new pair of glasses. Nagisa even cleaned my old driving glasses.
I highly recommend Pacific EyeCare Center Optometry. Try them, you will be very satisfied.
Exceptional service was provided by Linda at the front desk, Cody, Dr. Mak, and optical specialist Chris. My initial apprehension, stemming from previous upselling experiences, was quickly alleviated by their transparent and pressure-free approach. I highly recommend this company.
