Their appointment schedule is terrible... ignoring the patients' value of time. I had the first appointment time in the morning and found out many (much more than 10) people had the same appointment time. People need to wait for a extended time to receive the service.
The bath room is dirty and out of the toilet seat paper. And the paints on the wall are cracked.
The staff who did preliminary work on my eyes before the doctor had runny nose and sneezing. I hope he stays home instead of potentially spreading cold to patients.
Dr Hans Kim is an amazing doctor, very knowledgeable, skilled, kind, and I can tell that he is passionate about caring for patients with ophthalmology health needs. I had a retina tear almost a decade ago and at that time he sealed it up with laser surgery. I moved away from LA and I'm new ophthalmologist commended the surgery even after a decade.
The staff is also polite. But I do think they get a lot of heat from people and they do their best to accommodate. That said, I understand the comments on the wait times. I do think they can work on scheduling. I think that they have so many patients because he's such a great doctor. I'm not saying that it's okay to make patients wait long hours, but, I also know that in general, ophthalmologist visits can easily be couple hours long with tests, waiting for dilation, and such. I usually carve out 3 hours for my once-a-year ophthalmologist visits (I still do with my new opthalmologist).
That said, I do think they can work on improving their scheduling and maybe even the flow of the visit so that the wait time in the lobby is not as long.
My dad was concerned about an issue he was having with his vision. He's from
Michigan and flew into LA on a Friday night. Saturday afternoon we called Serrano, and they took us same day! Within 30 min of entering the doctors office a nurse was treating my dad. He received a full work up and our doctor was FANTASTIC.
I'm grateful for the entire team, their diligent work put my dad's mind at ease, and consequently mine as well.
I'd give this place 10 stars if I could.
Please try to avoid dr. Kim as he has tendency of lecturing patients of why patients left their eyes in such bad condition. If I knew what was happening, I would not visit a doctor. Right? I don't need to feel any more uncomfortable as I am already uncomfortable with bad eye condition.
I had a terrible experience with this place. I needed a Glaucoma examination due to my periotic check up. I called to make an appointment and I was told that it will cost me $180 for the exam and initial checkup for the first visit. I went there last Saturday. They were so busy and all rooms were all occupied, waiting for the doctor. I was told that I have to wait a while for my check up and it was close to closing time; I told them I will make an another appointment to come back but they made me to wait. I waited a while and the doctor came to my room, asked me a few questions regarding any health issue and wanted me to make an appointment for a Glaucoma exam and he left... That was about a 4 minute consultation. I had to pay $150 for the visit and office admin told me that I have to pay another $220 for the exam. How does this make any sense?? Also, when I make an appointment they said they will claim the bill to my insurance to see if it will be covered but the office admin wanted me to pay first because she thought it would not be covered. I asked them how much is the first visit, they said it will be $80 to $150. They forced me in the room to make a quick $150. I felt so bad when I left.
I do not recommend this place for ANY of your eye needs
I just took my 80 year old mother to this eye center. Wow, i work 9 months out of a year in Korea for the pass 10 years and I could not believe my eyes how inefficiency the clinic was operating! Good people, but wrong ways. I'm not an expert in this field but was able to notice one thing immediately!!! Your dealing with elders and the workers are young.
Younger people move/act fast the elder CAN NOT.....if I can make a suggestion before our beloved elders get hurt amongst the fast traffic of this very well intended clinic. SLOW DOWN amongs elders!
I have been going to this clinic for regular check ups. Last week I went because my eyes were red and burning. I called on Wednesday Sept 23rd to make an appointment and a girl told me they were full until October 15th, I told her it was an emergency and then she told me that I could go on Saturday Sept 26th, that she "would placed me on a waiting list to be seen and that I could go between 1:00 - 2:00p.m". When I arrived there and register they told me that I didn't had an appointment, I explained to them what happened and they said that
"nobody left a note or booked an appointment and that I had to wait for more than 1 hour, maybe 2, because the doctor just took his lunch and he had another appointments, that it was better to reschedule it" I decided to wait as my eyes were really bad, then a nurse comes and asks me the payment method for the appointment, I said cash and then they inmediatedly passed me. The doctor checked my eyes in less than 20 minutes and told me they were just dry and that it was very common because "nowdays everybody spends too much time on their cellphones and computers" he gave me eye drops and that was it. After 3 days my eyes were still red and burning. I went to another doctor to have a second opinion and he told me that it was allergies due to the fires and pollution, he gave me medicines for it and my eyes were healed the next day. I wasted $100 to be seen just for 20 minutes to tell me that my eyes were dry, after being unfairly treated and then immidiatedly passed after I said I was going to pay cash. I'm really dissappointed and will consider next time going to this place If I need to check my eyes.
My father has been going to the office for many years. Each time he was making an appointment, he couldn't help expressing his frustration because their receptionist service is terrible. I don't understand why the office doesn't address this type of issues. Very disappointing.
