I had a 9:10am appointment. Soledad Eye Surgery changed it from a date in January, due to they would be closed. It is 9:55am and I have not been called in, and this is the first of two waiting areas that are in series of waiting. This occurs every time I come. I need to look into another office.
Worse place scam alert
This medical group is completely unprofessional and misleading. I have keratoconus, which is a serious corneal condition and an urgent medical issue, not something cosmetic or optional. I was last seen over 50 days ago, and at that time I was explicitly told that on January 26, 2026, I would finally be seen by a cornea specialist.
Today, after waiting more than 30 minutes, the so-called "specialist" entered the room, looked at my eye for no more than three minutes, performed no examination, no testing, and no treatment, and provided no plan of care. His evaluation was no different from prior doctors who already admitted they could not help me. When I questioned why my time was being wasted and why I was scheduled with a specialist who clearly did nothing, his response was literally: "I don't know, I'm confused."
This is unacceptable.
This practice is billing insurance without providing medical care, repeatedly delaying treatment for a documented eye disease, and misrepresenting specialist services. My condition has worsened while they continue to schedule pointless visits and charge for them. This behavior appears fraudulent and negligent.
I will be formally reporting this medical group to LA Care, the California Department of Insurance, and any other appropriate regulatory and oversight agencies. Patients with real medical needs should not be used as billing opportunities while being denied actual care.
This place has everything in one place. Ophthalmology, Optometry, Retina specialist, they treat all kinds of eye disease and specialize in eye surgeries. Everyone must check in at the front desk... and the Staff moves patients at a fast pace. It is always busy, so it doesn't matter what time you're scheduled expect to sit in a waiting area with no empty seats. But patients are called in on a timely manner. They work by appointment only. The rooms are very clean and well lit. The Specialists are very professional and answer every question. They will do all the follow up paper work if you need further treatment.
The only down side for me is that the Optometry department is not very friendly. They just want you in and out. I wanted to purchase additional glasses after my initial pair was ready and it felt like they just wanted me out. They didn't give me options and didn't give me room to ask questions. They didn't even let me look at the glasses on the walls. The good thing is that now I can check othe providers for glasses.
Also, the parking situation can be tough. Very small and street parking is hard to find, you might have to drive for a bit to find something.
Contacted this office to schedule an eye exam and was told the soonest appointment is two months away. For an optometry office, that level of delay is unacceptable, especially for patients with vision concerns. Extremely disappointing. Would not recommend.
This place is a lot bigger than it looks outside. Very clean and nice ambience. Everyone was super helpful and professional. Although it was very busy with a lot of people, I didn't feel forgotten about or left abandoned. Everything was super efficient. Nurses and Doctor were very caring and open to conversation about my concerns. Definitely recommend this facility. Thank you for taking care of us!
Pains me to write this review. I was hoping to see Dr Maria Pesheva, but she was not in that day so I saw Dr. Yamanaka to look at my bilateral eye infections.
Although she admittedly said she's not a cornea specialist (and thus didn't know what was going on), it's sad because I would still hope to get more clarity after seeing a licensed ophthalmologist. Left with more loose ends, no answers nor helpful steps forward outside of a referral to USC, where I should've just gone in the first place.
I give two stars due to the help of the administrative team, otherwise it'd be certainly less. Also, they do NOT do culture swabs here.
For being at this clinic for the second time, on 2 different appointments it's was quick. You check in you wait a while they call u in and do a quick eye test. Ask if you have questions or concerns. Staff is always so nice and kind. They you go into another waiting area to be put in a room for the doctor to see you. Doctor is nice and caring!!! On both occasions she went over my concerns and explained things and gave recommendations. Like I said there a little of a waiting and place is always busy but I was in and out with in an hour or less.
Best experience I've ever had with a doctor. I felt so understood and like I was their top priority during my appointment. Also the office was so clean and modern and all the staff was so kind. Everyone was eager and willing to answer patient questions.
